Europcar uk

Hired a car online for 155 pounds to collect at Belfast International Airport for 7 days , with all their add ons I ended up paying 568 pounds before I got handed the key , my point is these charlatans don't ask questions online when booking so that if you knew what extortionate add'ons they will charge at the airport you wouldn't have booked it ,there no clarity with all hire car companies at airports on line and it's disgraceful that this allowed to happen by the uk government or "ombudsman" .???

Excellent Customer Experience

I am a regular traveller and I would never take my car hire business anywhere else but Europcar. Specifically the Customer Service Rep Temi at Stansted airport - car rental village he always greets me with a smile and always provides exceptional customer service. He goes out of his way to make my experience special. Thank you Temi you are a credit to Europcar. Until next time…..

SCAMMERS

Do not rent a car from them they are scammers , I picked a car from Manchester AirPort , prepaid and booked online with extra Insurance with 100% coverage, arrived at the airport with my husband wich is very ill ( he has cancer) and a 8 years old daughter , they have charge me almost 30 pounds extra for their Insurance even if I had paid for one online , there has been no way to find a solution either I addes their Insurance or I didn’t pick the car looking my prepaid hire. We have stayed 2 hrs trying to find a solition , the car has junk breaks, and AC don’t work, I called the number for claiming the car isnt ok and paid 10€ for not even a minute phone call and couldnt talk to anyone . I sent an email to the customer service on sarurday but no reply at all

Simply the worst company I’ve ever…

Simply the worst company I’ve ever dealt with!Rented through Ryanair and they placed with EUROPCAR. At the rental desk in Majorca they were pleasant enough. However there was no opportunity to view the car prior to signing paper work. Paperwork stated no damage however there was multiple dings, dents and scratches. I took photos of these as proof of damage. Low and behold the classic invoice for €240 euros arrives for a small dent on bumper that was there prior. I’ve shared photos, proof of paperwork which contradicts those photos and disputed the damage which I still maintain was no my doing. After asking the process for mediation they ignored my email and invoiced my card anyway. At this point I can’t help feel it’s their business model to offer cheap rental and then claw back fake damage claims on the back end. Don’t rent a car through this company, or at least if you do expect to be billed for something at the end.

Spend the extra on their competitor, because Europcar will charge you extra anyway

All seemed fine, we agreed on an additional cost of £40/day (£320+tax) for a car upgrade, but they ended up charging me more than £900 for extra stuff I never asked for.Sure, I should have read the contract better, but the person at the counter ensured me that the extra was £40/day, but all of a sudden they charge for insurance, station charge, different fees, just because they had the chance to grab some extra bucks from someone in a very stressful situation. They also scrolled through the contract and pointed to the signature field without giving me the option to read it beforehand.I will never use Europcar again, they are a literal definition of a scam/fraudulent company. Never had an experience like this with their competitors Hertz and Sixt, go for them in stead, and stay FAR FAR FAAAR away from Europcar.---Edit, a response to their response.I've given all the information to your support team, and *SURPRISE* they denied any claim I had.

Scam

I made my 7-day reservation for Corsa through the third party website (Qeeq) at 149.93 GBP. On return I was charged by Europcar for the premium insurance which I bought at the Europcar desk at Stansted, and that's fine. It was 185.22 GBP. However, upon return, I also found out that Europcar didn't honour my Qeeq reservation at all but charged me for the rental of the vehicle as if I purchased it on the spot, as well as premium station surcharge, and licenses and fees, which amounted to extra 210.82 GBP. The person who served me at the Europcar at Stansted did not inform me about my reservation not being honoured at all. I found out later, when I called their customer service and they sent me the invoice. They also informed me they don't honour third party reservations as they don't include all fees. Scam.

Don’t trust anything they say .

Don’t trust anything they say .. my mother has hired a car for a week .. this company gives a 2 hour window to deliver the car which you pay for but they turned up 2 hours late then the collection… the car was due to be collected between 10 and 12 today but no one has arrived .. she has just spent over an hour trying to find out when it will be collected and she keeps getting cut off. She paid nearly £800 for this hire and has wasted two days and the service is absolutely terrible. She needed to hire a car again and we will not use this company under any circumstances. Please stop making promises you can’t keep

Charged me money for nothing.

Booked a vehicle at the weekend for Monday, it wasn't confirmed because of low stock for tail lift vans. I was moving house and had been let down by enterprise. Because they couldn't confirm I looked elsewhere, I didn't get any confirmation in time on Monday and had sourced another van. They have since charged me over £100 for a no show fee. Having to section 75 it. Scammers.

Everything is broken!

I recently booked a car from Birmingham airport for a week via the Europcar website. The booking process was smooth, but everything went downhill when I tried to check in online. The day after my booking (11 days before pickup), I received an email requesting “basic information” for a “soft credit check” to save time at the counter. To do this, I needed to download the Europcar app and link my booking. However, when I tried to create an account with my booking email, it said, “This email is already linked to an existing account.” I attempted to reset my password multiple times, but no reset email arrived, indicating a problem on Europcar's end.I contacted Europcar support through their website, and they asked for my date of birth. When I replied, the email bounced back as undeliverable, saying the email address didn't exit. So I had to create a new support request, including my DOB, only to be told to try logging in using my DOB as a password. This didn't work. I was then advised to email their "webmasteruk" address, but received no response.Eventually, I created a new account with a different email address, which allowed me to link my booking. However, there was no option to enter the required information in the app, and many features were broken, linking through to a non-existent domain name. Leading me to submit yet another support request. This time, the Europcar website malfunctioned when I tried to submit my message with screenshots. After retrying, I successfully submitted without screenshots, only to be told to call the reservations team, who then claimed they couldn’t assist with the credit check. They transferred me to the branch, but after waiting over 10 minutes, I gave up. I tried logging into the website, only to encounter a “404 Error” when attempting to check in online. The app informed me that “Check-in opens 30 hours before pickup,” which was not mentioned in the initial email. The day before my rental, I still couldn’t check in through the app, even though it was less than 30 hours until pickup. After some effort, I managed to access the check-in option, but it failed to recognise my account. I attempted to log in multiple times, but the app continued to malfunction.Frustrated, I called Europcar again, but they said my only other option was to check in at the branch, as they were unable to resolve any of the issues I was experiencing. I expressed my concerns about potential delays, and they transferred me to the branch again, but after another long wait of over 15 minutes, it cut me off. On pickup day, we struggled to locate the Europcar desk, which, on all the emails, was incorrectly stated to be in the “Arrivals Hall.” After searching for 10 minutes, I eventually discovered through a Google review that it had moved to a car park. This misinformation wasted even more time.Without being able to check-in online, we were now stuck at the desk waiting while everything was processed, with my 5-year-old growing increasingly impatient. The staff member confirmed my issues with the app were common, and the desk had not been in the arrivals hall for two years! The rest of the rental experience was fine, with the car and car seat meeting our needs, although we had to wait for the seat’s delivery. So what’s that? About 11 different things broken, and about 6 instances of incorrect or misleading information. With no signs any of it is going to be resolved anytime soon. It is clear this company just does not care. I will be going elsewhere in future.

Fraudulent or negligent - not sure which

We rented a car from 5th to 19th August from Manchester Airport. Their online system was down so it was very delayed, all manually written, but I got the car. All fine with the car and since I dropped it off, they have charged Protection Premium (GBP 420). I specifically did not accept this online or at the desk. The form confirms this, and I even got separate 3rd party waiver for this purpose. There is no response from customer service and I will have to take it through the courts. Go for a different supplier.
