Hired your van for nearly 3 months

Hired your van for nearly 3 months, filled up with fuel ,drove 2 miles home, 2 men rolled up never said a word, told them if they need me knock and I'll see them, they drove of without a word next thing invoice for £40.04p for fuel, absolute scammers avoid at all costs

Booked through an online sitevarruved at Cambridgw office to be told you need to pay total cost of the car as the insurance through the site is not valid. Basically ended up paying over £200 for car insurance via the office. Left with a feeling of never ever again. Just to add had used the same site to book two weeks previous with Herts in Cambridge totally different experience with them. Your office left me feeling like I had been robbed since then I have seen other reviews which state the same experience! You have been replyed with an invalid email address which can not be used!

Joke of a company

Booked the car was told on the app I would have to pay 124 pounds extra which isn’t great but whatever on arrival I was told I need to pay an extra 1200 pounds in total because I am 25 and that’s a young driver even though online it said 25 is fine. Got all that crap sorted ended up paying an extra 400 instead which is still a joke considering I had already paid for it online but never mind I have to get the kids home. I go to the car it looked nice small crack in the rear light took a picture of it but forgot to take a picture of the inside. There was a rip on the carpet and they are claiming it was me the car was drove no more than 4 time for about 30 minutes each way we had the car for 10 days so it was barely used just sat parked and somehow this old ass rip was me. Opened my bank today to see another 400 pound taken out without contacting me at all. Company is a joke just avoid and catch a train or bus

AVOID EUROPCAR CAR AT ALL COSTThere are many hire companies out there, but sadly Europcar is not the one to use and I would definitely never recommend them or use them ever. I had a hire vehicle from them through my insurance company and 11 days after the vehicle was off hired I received a text message saying they were investigating damage that illedgely happened in my hire period.11 days later, a text..not even a phone call, and definitely something I am not responsible for. You can't of course speak to a human on the phone, as their complaints procedure only allows there staff to hind behind a keyboard, firing off emails and texts.Interestingly enough, when you scan social media, I don't appear to be an isolated complaint, and theirs too many customer experiences that suggest them taking money from people's accounts for "damage".. this would appear to be a bit of a buisness trend for them.. I can only give you the benefit of my experience, and I would never deal with them again or encourage anyone to use there service.D××× Turpin at least, wore a mask.

I'm not shocked after seeing that 47%…

I'm not shocked after seeing that 47% Europecar reviews are only one star, early morning I made a booking for a very small car which was gonna cost me £74, I needed the car I had to book it but in the morning just before pickup the car they called and cancelled the booking I was disappointed but it's another shity experience with Europecar, Dear reader please don't let your self by choosing Europecar.

Lets see what happens after I post this negative review... My guess is that Europcar respond with a 'We're sorry to hear... etc. etc... Please give us a chance to solve this problem by writing to us at this link - etc etc...' within a few hours. Then I write to them and they write back saying that they are very sorry but they cannot help. Then you write to them again and they don't reply. Cynical business practice designed to exploit the vulnerabilities of TrustPilot's system, and blatant profiteering over decency and ethics - that's Europcar.

Charging for petrol that was already done !!

My insurance hired me a car as my disability car is being repaired at no fault of my own but after a few weeks they asked for the car back, that’s fine so I had it cleaned inside and out that cost me £40 so I didn’t get anything to say it wasn’t clean and the fact I’m a nice person always give it back in same condition and I filled the tank to its capacity literally went over the full tank line BUT yesterday received a text stating I owe them £54.53 for fuel !! Thank god I took photographs and they were dated as they trying to pull a fast one !! I’m not paying for fuel when I had already filled it .. not my problem what your collection driver done when he left my property!! The customer services is terrible takes over an hour to speak to anyone and even then they are not interested just say email us with your concerns … absolute joke .. I emailed over 30 hours ago and have nothing back yet. No doubt someone will reply to this with “contact us” no you contact me as your in the wrong.

Appalling Services from Europcar

You’ve got a cheek with your stupid repeated replies to everyone to give you a chance, I wouldn’t give you a chance if you guys was the last company on earth. Wasters.One of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with. My car has had to go in back to the garage for its issues, Europcar was the only choice to provide me a car until mine is rectified. Europcar gave me a 5 seater MG and I said advised this was no good as we require a 7 seater (our 7 seater is in the garage), Europcar told me this was not possible, gave me a car that was absolutely disgusting inside and out and told me it had been valeted, (I have photos) I asked who valeted it stevie wonder?, they then gave me another 5 seater and again I made it clear a 5 seater is absolutely no good. Eventually 2 days later I get a call from Europcar to say a 7 Seater VW MULTIVAN GL74 VWY is available for me to collect. Went and collected and been smooth ever since. Driving home today 27/01/2025 and the vehicle (VW MULTIVAN GL74 VWY) started to smell of burning and then suddenly a large warning triangle saying HAZARD: FIRE, the vehicle hit the brakes by itself and came to a complete stop shutting everything down and called the Fire Service out. The Fire Service inspected and agreed it stunk of fire burning ect and advised me to not drive it any further. I call the Coventry Europcar Branch to make them aware of the situation and the guy was not interested and said call RAC, spent ages trying to connect with RAC whom could not find the details, in the end after I did some digging Myself, it was the AA who needed to be called so i was provided with the wrong information. The AA contractor Elite Recovery Midlands have just arrived and have immediately deemed the vehicle unfit and unsafe to drive from what they have seen and inspected at 21:06pm on 27/01/2025 I have the breakdown report, would you like me to post this report all over your sites to show you up and show everyone your lack of care to your customers, my children was in this vehicle and look what could of potentially gone wrong. vehicle ready to be recovered from my home on 28/01/2025The stress you have caused me and the danger you have put my children in with your dodgy vehicle Now trying to locate another 7 seater and the Coventry Europcar Branch are refusing to help and his words was (not my problem) so I called the main Europcar number and they have also been very unhelpful and said nothing they can do. The person at the Europcar Coventry UK, his customer service and attitude is disgusting

Terrible experience and extremely poor customer care

Terrible experience. Booked a car to be delivered to my house at 9 o'clock. Hadn't arrived by 10 and noticed I had been sent an email to say it had been cancelled. Contacted their reservations/customer services team and spoke to at least 7 or 8 different people. None of them was able to help and told me to contact the Enfield office who were dealing with the booking. Was on hold for over 30 mins trying to get through to Enfield office before giving up. Tried reservations line again and explained car needed urgently to attend close family funeral, still no-one helped and two people refused to put me through to a manager to try to resolve. Gave up in the end and got the train . Will never trust Europcar again, They messed up by renting me a car which they didn't have, their communication was non-existent (if they needed to cancel my booking at short notice someone should have at least rung me to confirm I had got the message) and the customer services were unable/unwilling to help me even though I explained the significant inconvenience they had caused me. Suggest using any other car hire company than these as surely the others don't treat their customers this badly?UPDATE: Following Europcar's response asking me to 'give them chance to resolve the issue', I have just received a standard response saying they didn't have an available cars and I will be refunded and to accept their apologies. Nothing about their appalling level of customer care, no acknowledgement of the huge inconvenience caused, no gesture of goodwill. Suggest avoiding using this company as if anything goes wrong they will do the bare minimum to resolve the issue.

Booked and paid online BIG MISTAKE!

Booked and paid online. Half hour later I got phone message saying they hadn’t got the size of vehicle I need and the alternative was too small. I tried to call back on 3 occasions but never got an answer except on one occasion the person said I’ll transfer you to the rental place I was collecting from and the phone went back to hold for another 10 minutes then an automated voice told me no one was available please try again. I cancelled my online booking but money had already been taken. Now I have to wait up to 28 days for refund! I emailed hoping for a quicker response but the automated email said they will contact me within 7 days! Give me my money back please!!!
