This is one of the worst car rental…

This is one of the worst car rental service you would ever use. We reserved a car on 24th Dec 2024, and paid for it to be picked up at Innsbruck airport. When we reached at the airport pick up the Austiran team told us we have not paid so we paid again. In our back statements, we can clearly see two transections paid to Europcar but the customer service is only talking about taking and releasing our deposit. This company is fraud as they charge customer twice without even giving an explanation.

**AVOID AT ALL COSTS**

**AVOID AT ALL COSTS** I will never use Europcar or recommend them at all. So my Mercedes generated a fault which went in for warranty repair. I was offered a courtesy car with Europcar which developed a tyre fault out of the blue (no collision occurred no pot hole was hit). The inconvenience was immense as it couldn’t be sorted on our drive and had to be taken to Kwikfit. The worst thing is they are trying to sting me with the cost!! Cowboys, crooks… take your pick!Avoid this lot

Provided with a pick up from this company due to a new one I bought having electrical issues. The pick up is not fit for purpose, it shakes, is unsafe, it’s filthy, the engine light is on and the customer service provided has been awful. Do not hire from this company.

Take it or leave it, next time I’ll leave it

Booked Mercedes A class arrived to find didn’t have so getting ‘free upgrade’ to …. a Nissan? Queried to be told I was getting bigger car, an SUV, so it was an upgrade. Advised it was just me so didn’t want an SUV as driving 500 miles would rather the premium brand for comfort. Told they had other Mercedes but they don’t give them for one way rentals (charged extra £78 for one way) so it was take the Nissan or nothing. In addition to drivers licence, DVLA share code and credit card all which was expected, I was then required to provide a passport (provided UK licence) and then told they would do a credit check - don’t know if checking for bankruptcy, CCJ or credit limit to value of vehicle?Won’t be using Europcar againSurprising reply from Europcar telling me to contact them using the link which is just their generic raise a question page. Clearly not interested.

Horrible!

I had a terrible experience at the branch in Maidstone on 23rd January 2025. My car, booked for 8:00 AM, wasn’t ready, and I was told I’d have to wait until 3:00 PM. The excuse? I booked the night before after closing—which the system allowed without warning.After waiting nearly an hour, they tried to upsell me a replacement car for £20 more per day. I refused, and the manager eventually approved it at no extra cost, but I was then charged £12–£13 daily for insurance instead. Adding to the chaos, payment delays due to system issues made the process feel rushed and unprofessional.My order number was 1185232517. This experience was stressful, disruptive, and unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this branch.

I have hired with Europcar and l can definitely say they are a fraudulent company. Whenever l do an extension they will tell me a certain amount and guess what that’s not the actually amount they will then charge double that amount and say it’s for taxes and fees. I advise you all if you hire with this company don’t extend your reservation. When you call customer service they won’t help and say it’s taxes and fees etc. why not tell customers the full amount instead of leaving out about more than 50% extra charges that come with extending

Terrible

Terrible, avoid! Returned a car to discover it had a crack in the windscreen. No point of impact so was obviously caused by the cold weather which is common in weakly manufactured screens. Sure enough searching the car make and cracked windscreen shows other drivers had this problem. Despite there being no impact damage, no surrounding scratches etc just a clean crack they are insisting its damage not a defect. They are asking for £900. I did take out insurance elsewhere but they wont cover manufacturing defects. Complete lack of care from them means I wont be using them in the future.

Customer service is a joke

Was advised by Motability to make a complaint as the hire car requested was an EV and not an automatic. Motability also confirmed they requested an EV but Europcar ordered the wrong car. Been over a week and no reply even though I've chased. Very disappointing.

AVOID Europcar Oxford. Scammers

Europcar Oxford tried to scam me of money for some damages were already on the car.Short story. On pick up they offered their insurance that would double the rental price and I refused. They bought the car outside and I asked for the existing damages report on the car that I was not provided with and I’ve been told that they are aware of all damages and I will not get charged for them. I took a video of the car in many angles that saved me probably paying over 1000£ in damages fees. On drop off the guy looked around the car for 1 minute the came to me and said that everything is ok and I will receive my deposit back in 4-5 days, I left and then the scammer went back to the car took photos of 2 scratches and added them to the drop off report and said that they were new ones. I never found out until one week later when I received an email from europcar with the claim against me for 2 scratches on the car. I asked for the drop off report and I couldn’t believe when I saw the pictures of the scratches in the drop off report. I cannot stress enough telling you how important it is to have videos and photos taken on the start of a hire as they will do everything they can to take some money off you.Be safe 👍🏻

SCAM SCAM SCAM, Europcar provided my local dealership with a dirty car as my mobility car was being serviced. When returning the car I filled the petrol tank to the brim until the pump clicked itself off. A week later I recieve a bill saying I only gave them back 3/4 of a tank. Absolute lies. Now they're harassing me for money I do not owe them. Upon further investigation it turns out they are famous for this scam. AVOID AVOID AVOID
