Review Time
This is probably the most bizarre behavior I have ever seen buying from someone. I recently sent my sunglasses to be repaired scratches removed their site states that they can do this so I sent them.it takesthem over two weeks to respond the box I had sent with a signature. They tell me that for $240 they will put new lenses in I told them that the glasses were not worth it to send them back they tried to haggle with me numerous times to get me to purchase this I told them that is not what I wanted to send my glasses back. This went on and on somebody from the company kept texting me almost in a threatening way. After all of that they wanted to charge me $15.95 to send me my glasses back I told them I refused. Every day they keep sending me text and emails that I owe them this $15.95. I would not even think about giving them a credit card or Venmo or any form of payment because of the dishonesty. I feel like they did not even see if they were repairable they were just saying to sell me something then when I didn’t agree all of the conversation began. Lesson learned do not do business with this company. He did tell me that if I wrote a positive review that they would send my glasses back at no charge. What a strange way of twisting the situation. They can keep my glasses at this point I really don’t care I am just glad I am able to review this unscrupulous business To help others. I just want to add to my post and clarify and correct eyeglass depot on the response He noted they were very expensive lenses the entire set of lenses with frame cost me $300.00 2 years ago because they are progressive lenses.. They also state that there were 2 frames ? I sent in one frame with two lenses. Of the two lenses one had a scratch on it the other had no scratches this is why I sent it to eyeglass Depot and no they were not destroyed of scratches I would know better than to send a pair of glasses like that. The grave mistake I did make was not reading reviews it appears there are many many reviews with the same situation that I occurred with us unscrupulous business. Again they have twisted all of the facts around in their favor.Thank you again for allowing me to post the facts to the public
I was referred to Eyeglasses Depot from Costa Warranty. I sent the glasses in and was emailed 5 times about the repair that needed to happen to the glasses. I sent the money in for the repair and waited on the glasses. The glasses finally came in and the repairs were NOT DONE. I was mailed back the SAME glasses that I mailed in. I called the customer service number to take care of the issue and she did not sound assuring just told me someone would get back with me. This is not expectable. The owner of the company called me to apologize and explain what happened. He was very polite and assured me with confidence that the glasses would be repaired properly. It was a better experience. Thank you Sam for being a good owner of a company and talking to your upset customers.

I sent my broken Maui Jims (broken earpiece) to them after being promised that both earpieces would match. The on-line quote was in the vicinity of $49 but the actual fee came back as double. I went ahead, trusting that my glasses which were like new when broken would be repaired for less than 1/2 of a new pair. The two earpieces do not come close to matching, and yesterday's email (part of a long back and forth with this business about why I'm unhappy with their repair) pretended to not understand....after I had sent photos to illustrate the two earpieces are different color, different transparency and different widths. At one point, I was offered a different earpiece but it was for the wrong side. I have repeatedly asked what they can do or asked for a refund but at this point I just feel like it's become a game to what passes for customer service. Save your aggravation, stay away from this business. P.S. after posting everything BEFORE this P.S., I got an email that "the owner" wanted to talk to me. Problem is he called twice: first time in the evening of 12/23/21 from a "private caller" ID'ed phone so I didn't answer. The next day -- Christmas Eve -- I asked for a time certain when eyeglassesdepot would call again so I would be home and could answer. No answer to my request but I got a second call Christmas night (12.25) just before 10PM. When I asked again to know when I would be called so I would be home, awake, and able to answer I was told repeatedly to "go away", the final time with offensive language. A week ago today (1.3.22) I spoke to Annie in Customer Service, and asked her to help me get a call back scheduled. I'm understanding eyeglassesdepot's reply to this review as their final answer. They got me for $100+ for a pair of mis-matched temple pieces which they first tried to tell me were a match despite having different nomenclature on each. Save your money....you'd be better off buying the same frame new and use the broken pair for spare parts needed in the future. My "experience" is a 1 for the repair; a ZERO for customer service and care, and two months of aggravation.
I needed my lenses replaced because of deep scratches and they did a great job!! Also with the original lenses from Lens Crafters the lenses would pull on my eyes regarding my astigmatism and when I put the repaired eyeglasses on and I do not feel that pull. Crystal clear vision. Amazed!!

WORST. COMPANY. EVER.I accidentally filled out a repair form on eyeglasses depot after unwittingly googling "Maui Jim glasses repair" and thought that Maui Jim maybe was contracting out to another company for their minor repairs (which Maui Jim does for free!) Eyeglasses Depot started immediately harassing me several times a day with phone calls, emails, and texts... That was a red flag and should have been my 1st clue) and when I finally realized my mistake, I requested my glasses be sent back to me. Multiple weeks and emails later, not only was I originally quoted a more than $200 repair price (which was more than the brand new glasses and frames cost!) But once I requested they be sent back to me unrepaired so I can send them to Maui Jim to get them repaired FOR FREE, they reached out saying they would do a special deal to repair them for $69 Seriously?!? What kind of company does this? Obviously the first repair quote was incredibly overpriced, and then they tried to reel me in by lowering the price by 75%. SUPER shady. It took me weeks and 5 emails of me requesting my glasses back unrepaired, to the point where the only thing that made them send them back was threatening to report them to the Better Business Bureau. One month to the day of me starting this whole debacle I received them back (yesterday), and today I filled out the correct repair form with Maui Jim for the temple piece to be repaired for free! Also, I think they have a lot of fake positive reviews otherwise they would have an even lower overall rating. Who gushes that much about their glasses repair? At the most they would say "Good company. They did what they were supposed to do and my glasses were repaired", but who would gush about it like that, especially when you are paying them for that service? I think a lot of their positive reviews are fake, and also note how they attack customers who post bad reviews. I put a lot of stock in paying attention to how companies respond to negative feedback and these guys failed that test, as well as their aggressive, shady, and horrible business practices. I hope they go out of business! On the flip side, I WILL gush about Maui Jim for their awesome repair policy and awesome customer service! This will be the 2nd time in less than a year that I have sent them in for a free temple piece repair (I've been wearing them while laying in bed at night to watch TV, but I will not be doing that anymore!). Those guys are on their game and do the repairs for free in a timely mounter. Now THERE is a company worth gushing about.

EyeglassesDepot.com started in 2007 as a new department of our retail designer eyeglasses and sunglasses business. Quickly we realized that our customers not only shop for new prescription lenses and new frames, they also ask us the popular question "Can this be fixed?". Tired of telling customers NO, we decided to explore the idea of repair rather then replacement. In late 2007 we remodeled the second floor of our office and hired the staff that today runs our laboratory. Our two lab technicians have combined over 17 years of expert experience in the field of optometry, eyewear repair and eyewear sales.See more
