Disappointing Experience – Would Not RecommendI sent my sentimental Tiffany silver necklace to this company for gold plating, as it was a gift from my late father, and I now wear gold more than silver. Given that Tiffany is a well-known and expensive brand, I expected a high level of care and professionalism. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of frustrating.From the start, the company made a major error – they sent me someone else’s order, and my necklace was sent to a completely different customer. Thankfully, that person was honest and returned it, but the fact that a Tiffany necklace could have easily been lost or kept by someone else is unacceptable. As a ‘gesture of goodwill,’ I was given store credit as an apology, but that was just the beginning of the issues.I had paid extra for a thicker gold plating that was supposed to last for years, yet within just three months, the gold completely wore off. When I contacted the company, they offered me the option to either replate it or remove the gold entirely. I chose to remove it, as I didn’t want to go through the same issue again. However, when my necklace was returned, the gold removal was incomplete, leaving it with an uneven gold tinge instead of its original silver finish.At this point, I asked for a refund, as I had not received the service I had paid for. Eventually, they refunded me—but only the original amount—and they removed all the store credit they had previously given me as an apology. After months of wasted time and stress, I’m left with a sentimental necklace that no longer looks as it should, no compensation for the hassle, and a disappointing lack of understanding and communication from their team.I would absolutely not recommend this company. Their handling of valuable and sentimental jewelry, poor attention to detail, and lack of real accountability make them a business to avoid.
I had several pieces of jewellery repaired and replated with Finematter. It was an excellent experience! They had my jewellery back to me in less than a week and their pricing is affordable compared to other providers. I’ll definitely be back to have more jewellery repaired.
