Review Time
Wanted a motorhome to take to Europe.Was first told that they could not do it in case it was not back on time?????I assume I put down a deposit in case something like this may happen???Asked again a while later. I was told they can't do that. No reason.Asked for a reason, No response.Kind of get the feeling that they only want to rent to trips that suit them. Not a problem, put that on your web site.
I made a last minute decision to rent a van through Goboony. Because of this I needed my documents and application approved ASAP. I sent a request form for this to be done and the team were straight on it! I received a lovely email from the team confirming that I could proceed with my booking and from then on it was all straightforward. Me and my son had a fantastic weekend ☺️
Was nervous about renting my motorhome as I had never used Gobooney before. The process was actually very easy and the handover with the owner was a doddle. We had an amazing trip up to the west coast of Scotland and over to the Isle of Sky. I was contemplating buying a motor home but will now just rent one using Goboony until I retire.
We came from a rental with Goboony in Scotland, which on all levels was a good experience, also with Goboony. This time we rented a motorhome for 2½ weeks in Italy with a local near Milano. This time it became clear to us, that Goboony is only a proper solution for campervan rental when everything goes smoothly. During our rental we had a breakdown and was stuck on the side of the road and needed help. Goboony claims to provide 24/7 emergency assistance and that roadside assistance is always available. Thats completely untrue. On my phone I can see that we tried calling Goboony four times without any luck. We even left a message saying that we needed help urgently, but no-one got back to us. We also tried calling the number for direct contact to the insurance company/towing seven times without any luck. The phone menu when calling was in Italian, so either we pressed the wrong buttons to reach assistance or we got an employee who hung up on us because he/she couldn't speak English. Finally after a few hours we managed to get at hold on the owner of the vehicle, who thankfully was able to call the number, communicate in Italian and order towing. The employee who helped towing our vehicle also could not speak english and therefore could not help us organising alternative accommodation while the vehicle got fixed. We again tried contacting both Goboony and the insurance company for help arranging accommodation, but the issue was the same, either no one picked up or they hung up since we did not speak Italian. We ended up arranging and paying the accommodation ourselves and Goboony/the insurance company refused to reimburse us, since we did not have the booking approved beforehand. Somewhat difficult to have it approved if you cannot get in contact with someone who is able to communicate in English?! Goboony claims to be an international company... Breakdowns happen, and thats a premise, but the lack of service and responsibility from both Goboony and the insurance company is absurd. We will look for another solution/company next time.
