Hired a motor home through GoBoony. Due to various problems, GoBoony had to get involved with a dispute. In the very first instance they were helpful but very quickly their attitude changed and they became obstructive in assisting me, clearly sided very quickly with the other party despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary and did in fact lie regarding certain facts and or information. They then refused my phone calls, emails went unanswered for days at a time and any reply I did receive was further obstructive & unhelpful in the extreme If you wish to hire a motor home then use GoBoony at your peril!
App is good, grwat selection of campers on offer. A gripe with usability is theres no way of limiting your search to areas that are reachable, so if you added a filter with radius of 50miles, 100 miles etc. I gad my phone in one hand checkjng location whilst on your app on my tablet. Takes a longtime.
I've never hired a motorhome before so chose to go through a bigger company, Goboony, for peace of mind with regards to payments and finding somewhere local we could rent from. The camper we hired was lovely & almost brand new, but it was missing the ladder for the kids bed, meaning we ended up having to cut our 3 night break down to 2 nights. We'd also paid the vendor for early check-in and our van wasn't ready when we arrived to collect it. I raised a dispute with the vendor through Goboony and the vendor didn't agree, so I asked Goboony to make a decision on the dispute, which is an option on their website and part of the service you pay for by choosing Goboony. For a £400 trip, where we missed one night out of three, Goboony awarded me £38. They also said the vendor had to cover a percentage of the costs for the early check-in we paid for but did not get. The issue is that Goboony make the decision and then tell you that you have to deal with the vendor to get this money back - and if it's not resolved you need to take the vendor to small claims court!! How is this helpful and what are they paid for?! The vendor gave me back £38. Which only just covered the third campsite I'd booked and no loss of a night at all. They refused to pay the late check-in money back. I obviously am not going to take this to small claims court, so I am out of pocket and our holiday was ruined. I won't be using them again. EDIT TO ADD: GoBoony have now replied to this review asking why I didn't send a photo of the missing ladder. This says it all. How do I take a photo of something that is missing? I did share with you all the messages I sent the company we hired from to show you that I messaged them frequently about the missing ladder.
We thought our long planned trip to Flamingoland was scuppered when someone drove into my car half an hour before we needed to set off. Where could you find a vehicle for three people, and four dogs, and a weeks worth of luggage. . . Keely replied within minutes of me reaching out and said yes straight away! lovely Daisy got us there and even let us stay an extra day to make up for the day we lost. I didn't know if they understood what that meant to us but I hope the fact we are booking her again for next year expresses it. thank you so much 10 out of 10.
Main reason is first time renters and trying to sort out what I need to do regarding paperwork, looked on help centre but couldn’t find what I needed. Also hirers email is hard to find. Maybe just cause first time and am nervous
I used their service to make a booking and was accepted by the owner but to then find out within 24hrs it was cancelled automatically without notice. I am totally disappointed and shocked with the booking system and level of customer service. I lost my booking because the system allowed someone else to book the same motorhome within the same dates when at the time the dates was available and I was in the process of completing the booking. Was then given 72hours to complete the payment however within 24hours the booking was cancelled without any notification to say “please complete payment as someone else is interested” There was no where on the website specifying “first come first serve basis” it’s badly advertised and it’s a money making scandal because they allow multiple bookings without allowing the person sufficient time to complete their information and to make a decision. I made plans with my family for specific dates and the motorhome location was within radius so everyone was happy to go ahead. I contacted a customer advisor of the company to stress my frustration about what happened but I kept being thrown the same story and instead of listening to what I had to say I was just told the same thing about how the system works and how noting can be done as someone else “beat you to too it with payment” but for a first time user it’s ridiculous that you allow for this to happen as how can they overlap peoples booking! There was no clear instruction about the whole process and believe no sympathy was given for my whole experience. If the system was fair you would have at least allowed the time scale of 72hours to make payment and then automatically cancel it and step up the next person in line instead of overlapping it with someone else who makes payment first then why give 72hours? Or why don’t they allow people to put a holding deposit at least? For such a company to be trusted with a booking system that hires vehicles to people and for the owner to put trust in them I believe they scam people by with increased rates when it suits them and do block bookings during peak time of the year and only open them closer to the time to make more profit. My booking was for next year during school holidays and when I was making the booking the whole month was available as soon as I put my interests forward all of a sudden the rest of the dates was filled so even after the failed booking I couldn’t choose any other dates. So much for showing heart and understanding it’s all about how fast they can take your money but can’t help you their system ruin the whole experience. No remorse was given and most importantly I don’t think noting was done to even help they just listened but didn’t care about resolving the matter just only cared that someone made a payment so who cares if it messes up peoples plans.
