Stephanie Hardesty explained our claim in detail, so that I could understand the details as to deductibles and such. This made my decision based on facts, which I did understand. She also was always prompt to return my calls and text me when needed.

Stephanie H was the absolute best after Hurricane Helene messed up our property. I can’t speak enough good about Grange Insurance and Stephanie our claim expert. She was thoughtful, kind, and caring. We submitted our damages and they sent a check right over. Was unbelievably easy and I can’t thank Stephanie and Grange Insurance enough for being top notch.

Michael L. has been excellent through this entire experience. He has been there to answer all of my questions, and has made this less stressful than it could have been.He came out within days to assess the damage and has helped me every step of the way since. His customer service skills are amazing and I am glad that he has been my adjuster. I wish there were more people like him in this world!

Malicious practices

TL;DR: Raised rates by 25%, refused my cancellation form, sent me to collections for money they charged after I cancelled service.I had a homeowners insurance policy with Grange and was satisfied for the first year—good rates and no hassles. Then, they raised my rates 25%. I had no claims, paid on time, and dealt through a broker, Meridian Insurance in Dayton, Ohio. When I called, I could not speak to a human at the main office so I called one of the field offices where a lovely woman who worked for the company for "many many years" advised me to shop elsewhere; she'd never seen rates hikes like this. So I shopped around and found a much better rate. I notified Meridian who said they would notify Grange. I also had my new insurance fax over the cancellation. Grange then sends me a bill for the days after my cancellation. I wrote a letter informing them of the mistake (since their phone lines never ring through to an actual human). The next letter I get is from a collection agency. Do yourself, your credit score, and your sanity a favor and avoid Grange like the plague.

Home repairs !!!

So all of this is weather related I guess that's our fault huh... We had roof damage From wind from the winter time water sitting by our house pipe broke under the house and food loss for being without power for 3 days .. All if this is under our home insurance policy that's why you pay for insurance!!!!!! So what pay for it but when you need it you can't use it ... It's a joke !!!! So we get a letter in the mail no phone call a letter saying we're being dropped for using our policy for home repairs it's a freaking joke so they want your money but when it's time to use it they'll drop you this is beyond FD up !!!!!!Yes grange paid for some of it which we still owe on the roof and drainage because it was all not covered ... Tell me how does this make any sense ?????

Don't Walk, Run Away From This Company

I bought my first home on April 5, 2024 thanks in part to Grange Insurance providing the insurance coverage. However, approximately one month later they sent a letter stating that they were cancelling my coverage due to a huge tree in my front yard. To just have a few branches trimmed is thousands of dollars. Had they conducted their inspection sooner, I would have passed on the house due to the tree. They sent me a check for the money that was already paid. Don't believe for one minute that this company will stand by you in your time of need.

Grange. They should change their name to Glacier. They move that SLOWLY

Grange (also marketed under the name Integrity) does not aggressively pursue information to settle your claim. I was in an accident where I was hit by a drunk driver in the middle of the day. The other driver admitted fault to the deputy taking statements. Of course the guy had a history of offenses including many instances of suspended and revoked license, and an OWI. He was issued three citations. Grange said they could not proceed with taking any action until they had the accident report from the Milwaukee Sheriff's Department. So for weeks I did not know whether or not the guy had insurance (spoiler alert, he didn't). The problem is that Grange did nothing to obtain the accident report--"I" had to get it. All it took was a little persistence. Grange didn't do a thing to help, but they are eager to cling to the fact that they followed their own (inadequate) protocol. They say this as if it is a matter for pride. They also like to blameshift. Their "damage control" supervisor that reached out to me at my request was nothing more than combative. She blamed their incompetence in pursuing the accident report on the fact that they farmed out the job of obtaining the report to an outside agency. Whatever complaint you have with Grange, no matter how valid, will be ignored. They will dismiss any and every legitimate issue you have with an excuse and a feigned apology. I supplied Grange's claims adjuster with the report on 6/19. I was informed by the Milwaukee Sheriff's Office that it had been available to the insurance company on 6/13, and furthermore that no one from Grange asserted any pressure to get it prior. They also pulled another stunt: telling me that the shop I chose was not a "prestige" shop, AFTER I had the car towed to said shop. Grange has relationships apparently with certain shops that they deem "prestige shops," and one could surmise this is for Grange's benefit. Grange will "warranty the parts and labor" relating to the accident for the lifetime of the vehicle. When I tried to nail Grange's claims adjuster down on the parameters of the "lifetime warranty" she waffled--it was nebulous at best. Given my experience, Grange's warranty might as well be drawn on the Bank of Charmin. But it's a moot point, because Grange didn't explain to me what a prestige shop was until AFTER my vehicle was towed to a garage I selected--one recommended by my local agent who lives here in WI. When I complained about how Grange did nothing to move the process along, Grange blamed it on my garage. I was berated by Grange for not selecting a prestige auto body shop. A month later, and I don't have a decision from Grange on my automobile, and again, while they want to blame the garage for taking too long to dismantle the car, Grange did ZERO to push them to do so. With Grange, you are ON YOUR OWN. I cannot tell you how much I detest this insurance company. My vehicle was a crumpled lump of trash from the accident, yet Grange insisted on having it repaired. They said that the "supplemental repairs" (additional costs that could be documented AFTER the car was taken apart), would be added with the original estimate from their adjuster to see if the 70% threshold could be met to total the car. Did I mention my claims adjuster is in Florida and I'm in WI? Grange knew that it would be difficult to find an exact replacement for my vehicle, but that miraculously the dealership had one. You would think this would spur Grange to put some pressure on the garage to act so they could give me some definitive answers, but no. I had to do ALL the legwork. I had to coordinate calls between the garage and Grange. The adjuster was difficult to reach, and often would conveniently send a text message on a Friday afternoon, just before she left for the weekend. Despite moving at a glacial pace, Grange would not pay for a single day's car rental after their contractual obligation to pay for 30 days was met. The problems are numerous: they move slowly, they insist in fixing a car that should be totaled, the repairs to the car (if possible at all) would take at minimum four weeks to complete AFTER the garage receives the parts (another week). With Grange you are left to hang in the wind. If I could rewind time, I'd select ANY insurance company over this one. My experience has been anything but pleasant. I will warn anyone who will listen. If my experience can save someone from the aggravation I've suffered at the hands of this company, my taking time to write this review will be worth every second it took me to submit it.

Great rates. Decent customer service. Poor claims settlement.

My car was involved in a minor accident, not at all my fault. I got all the at-fault driver's details, got him to admit fault & contacted Grange. It started off very well, with them promising to manage all aspects of the claim and to claim off the other driver's insurance. They did as promised, with a little pushing from me and the repair was quoted and arranged.I did not claim anything else from the at-fault driver for my expenses, inconvenience or final selling price impact. The challenge came when I came to settle the final bill and the repair company insisted I pay the 'deductible' from my insurance. When I asked for this to be paid back by Grange, the problems started, with them procrastinating, with various excuses, for months. When I threatened them with legal action, the deductible was refunded within 24 hours!
