Review Time
I've submitted a return request to Aktiia in due time and up today I have not received any response than an acknowledgement of receipt of my request. What does a customer do if he does not get an answer from Aktiia to multiple support requests? He gets angry publicly ...
I found the product to be very useful in monitoring my BP and found the app easy to use and insightful although there is sometimes a delay in it updating but seems to resolve once you close it down and open up again. I also shared with my GP who was impressed with the device and reports. I have had it 5 months now and realised one day the charge was gone so put it charging but nothing happened. When I looked closer the sensor at the back appeared to be slightly lifted and could see rust forming. I have always taken it off when having a shower etc. and it hasn’t been exposed to water. I emailed customer support over a week ago and have only received an automated reply requesting further info which I provided immediately. I sent a follow up email but still have not received any response.Update - After an initial slow response, customer support did engage and organised a replacement for me and have advised that the newer versions are less prone to moisture problems. I have upgraded my score to 3 stars but if the product stay’s working and the same problems aren’t experienced again, I would happily update it to 5 stars.
I purchased the blood pressure monitor on the advice of my cardiac specialist. Although it does monitor my blood pressure and sends the results to my phone, I am disappointed that the wrist strap has no dial for cardiac information, nor the time, or any other information. At £200 I expected more functionality. Furthermore the strap is only just long enough and is prone to come loose.
10/10/23UPDATEWell having answered several enquires from Aktiia purporting to be part of the "investigation process" I'm not further forward. The device gave up working completely on the 20/09/23. Aktiia take at least two weeks to respond to anything and then ask for pictures of it not working(???!?) or details of your purchase which they already have if they bothered to look. In short; just delaying tactics in the hope we all get bored and move on. It's sad as otherwise it could be a very good product; it's readings were accurate and the data transfer to an account really handy. The key issue though is, when it works. If it is a question of a poor quality seal then they should have seen that problem from the outset; it isn;t a cheap product. Any similar wrist worn piece of tech would have much better water (& sweat) resistance than what they are presently achieving.I've all but given up hope on Aktiia sorting our a replacement or refund; their responses are classic delaying tactics of an outfit looking to avoid its commitments. Instead I've taken the matter up with my card provider.Anyone buying needs to be aware and consider their purchase carefully. This could be an excellent product; so far I'm afraid it isn't. When it works it's brilliant. The key here is though when it works... as most of the time the bracelet element fails to communicate with my phone and the app. Presently I'm waiting on a response from customer service as to what they propose to do about it. They offer a two year warranty although the process appears to be far from automatic.
Easy to set up, the battery lasts 4 days and not 9 days as advertised. Also there are gaps in the measurements taken, hours missing without any apparent reason. Integration with Apple health would be great, the ability to prompt it to take BP measurements on the spot will also be very helpful. Overall, it’s a good productS
I purchased the Aktiia Blood Pressure measuring device because it was recommended by friends. Payment was made online and the device arrived quickly and in sensible packaging. Unfortunately, after trying out the cuff and armband for a few days, I found that they didn't seem suitable for me. Both the armband and cuff were too large for my small frame; they kept moving, not staying in place. I am 1.64 cm, about 58 kgs. I tried to continue using the device, as I liked the armband in particuar and found the Aktiia App very helpful. Both are top quality items and seem to work effectively !Eventually, it didn't work out for me however, and I requested a refund: the cuff and armband were simply too loose. The refund procedure took too long in my opinion, which is why I deducted one point. The device itself is of excellent quality - I highly recommend! Unfortunately Aktiia responded slowly to my various email questions, but I will say that they did stay in touch, albeit with considerable delay, in my opinion; this became a real test of my patience.
