Appalling Recruiter

Whilst Housing21 provides adequate accommodation for its elderly residents, that it takes stock of its properties, I cannot fault its service in terms of instigating repairs etc, however, its recruitment process is appalling. I recently applied for a Housing Manager role in Sutton, Surrey, where I live. A few months ago, I applied for a similar role in Oxford, a distance of 128 miles from Sutton. I was invited for interview on two separate occasions for that position, but was unable to attend for personal reasons. I have been refused an interview for the local position and the organisation has blatanly ignored my request for an explanation or constructive feedback. Earlier this year I also applied for a board member position, having relevant experience having worked in local government and the civil service for many years, but was refused an interview. One of the sucessful candidates for that role had a background in accounts for a local authority, and had sold his home and ascertained social housing with Housing21, despite having been of very afluent means. It it obvious he was selected for his financial background, when the primary requirement for the role was about having a voice for residents. The appointed person's experience would have been completely detached from the interest of residents. The organisation's recruitment process is unfair, bias and descriminatory.

Limestone and all there staff are wonderful helpful welcoming Jane and Kerry helped us when we didn’t understand And Jody was so kind all the staff are so pleasant and helpful and a credit to housing 21 even the cafe staff are all wonderful we couldn’t ask for more My only down point was the process could be made so much easier by having a list of all your requirements needed to purchase instead of week by week needing stuff also a lot of duplicate questions and the same now as we have form to fill in regarding the same information you have already had I would guess the majority of people are elderly like my mum where time is at the essence a pack given with a list of everything you need would make it much easier and less frustrating

Lovely assisted living apartments. Carers and all the staff are like family. Nothing is too much bother. Friendly, knowledgeable, experienced carers who are also approachable and respectful.Couldn't wish for better. Well recommended. Staff make the place, so nice and homely. Love the cafe too, beautiful meals all home cooking made from scratch. Joyce the cook very good, all beautifully made food.Lovely and spacious, smells lovely and is very clean, well kept and well maintained. Activities throughout the week. Excellent.

Tried to convince my nearly 70 yr old parents to paint and remove carpets before they left

Richard Onslows court, Shrewsbury Shropshire More support and transparency when leaving. My 70 yr old parents who have had serious health issues this last yr. (Heart attack, previous stoke and brain damage and father had half a lung removed). They are now moving in with me and have mostly moved put just finally cleaning bits to do. They have been there 5 yr and their notice told them they had to rip up the carpets and since the landlord/housing manager has told the to paint etc. There is really nothing that isn't fair wear and tear there may be some excessive wear and tear due to parents being unable to complete those regular deep cleans that most of us do 63-6monthly. I have commu scared with them and they just keep being vague and quoting the notice and an exert from the tenancy (decorative condition, furniture removed, fair wear and tear). Which having googled asked tenancy forum etc this appears to be something they can't ask for my parents to do. I think they are rude, vague on purpose to try and make them panic and do more it has been hard on them moving as it is and they are as active as they can be. I just think this is poor management and customer service. Really rubbish.
