DO NOT USE!!!!We purchased an item and understand the auction process. Asset Auction gave us a delivery price and then said the item could not be delivered, they continually changed the listing after we bid and won the item. Asset auction do dont answer their emails very readily and the phone number they gave us to arrange to collect the item is on constant v-mail. The listed item was meant to be Nottingham but suddenly the collection changed to Rotherham...this was not in the listing when we bid and we only bid based on a delivered price given by Asset Auctions
ASSET AUCTIONS - Asset Auctions starkly illuminate the depths to which online auctioning has plummeted, casting a severe shadow over I-Bidder's esteem. The experience my partner was subjected to, characterised by a blatant neglect and avoidance, underscores their notoriety. Once the payment is made, trying to get in touch with them becomes as futile as attempting to catch smoke with your bare hands - a complete abandonment. Though there's a mutual responsibility for not probing the plethora of negative reviews on Trustpilot, it doesn’t pardon the sham masquerading as a reputable business. A quick glance at the overly positive reviews on asset-auctions.co.uk suggests a smokescreen, likely manufactured by the company itself to obscure the genuine distress depicted in the truthful criticisms. These narratives of financial commitments followed by utter neglect suggest operations dangerously close to fraudulent. It's astonishing that I-Bidder seemingly neglects its obligation to vet its auctioneers, allowing such dubious activities to go unmonitored. If this debacle is indicative of I-Bidder’s oversight, then my engagement with them will decisively end.
Ibidder itself is a good platform for making auction bids from reputable auctioneers, however they do allow scammers (eg. supreme auctions) to sell scrap on their site with absolutely no comeback. If they were to stop these companies from selling on their site, everybody except the dishonest auctioneers would be happy.
Have used i-bidder for a few years now and had no issues, and got some good bargains. Customer service was good when contacted. I notice some auction fees are rising, some are much as 27%! this has nearly doubled from what the fees were....so choose your auction house wisely!Good hunting!
I have used i-bidder for several years. It's a pretty faultless system and I have never had a problem with it throughout. It keeps me updated on lots I am searching for, notifies me in good time and the process of registering, bidding, buying and paying is seamless. A great service that I would even pay a subscription to access. My only small criticism would be that i-bidder occasionally works with auction houses who set minimum bids. Sellers are looking for a fast sale, buyers are looking for a bargain - that's the whole premise and purpose of online auctions. Minimum bids make it more like visiting a shop and sometimes, those minimum bids are almost open market value, which is a bit silly.
