Frustrating Experience with Number Porting

I bought a new phone from an authorized reseller, and since I have multiple plans for my family with a certain provider, it seemed logical to keep the new phone on a new plan with them. However, when I tried to transfer my old number to the new plan, I was informed that their system doesn't allow this. The only option to keep my old number was to switch to a different provider or upgrade directly with them. The customer service team even mentioned, 'you should have upgraded with us if you wanted to keep the number,' which implies that shopping around for better deals isn't an option. At the time of purchase, their offer was significantly less competitive. This approach doesn't seem to be a good way to keep loyal customers. Is this a common issue with all providers? I'm curious about alternatives so I can decide within my cooling-off period.

Regretful Experience with the Service

My son recently suggested this service, and it turned out to be a significant mistake. I signed up for a one-month rolling contract with direct debit. However, I had to wait three days for my SIM card. The seven-day timeframe was misleading; it was just a message indicating it would be sent after five days, which never happened. Reaching out to them was a nightmare. Without my number, I couldn’t use the chat or app. To set up the app, I needed my number, which I didn’t have. Ultimately, I had to enter my own phone number and pretend to have an account just to discuss my SIM card. I explained my issue to a representative, and they asked if I could go to a nearby store to pick up a SIM. When I inquired about the delay in posting, I was so frustrated that I requested to cancel the order. I was then informed that I would be responsible for charges until the return date, which seemed absurd since I hadn’t even received the SIM card. I expressed my desire to file a formal complaint, and the representative offered a £7 credit to compensate for the charges and provided a complaint reference number. I’ve saved a copy of the chat because I suspect this isn’t over, especially after reading other reviews.

After a few days of experiencing poor mobile data reception, I decided to switch to another provider. My monthly payment was £10, yet I was charged £18.22. When I reached out to the customer support team, they explained that this was a termination fee not clearly outlined in my contract. This seems to reflect a lack of clarity in the agreement, seemingly aimed at imposing charges despite the intent of a 'cooling-off period.'

Disconnection Issues and Poor Customer Support

My number was disconnected without warning, and reaching customer service has been a nightmare. The only way to talk to a representative is through a chatbot that often crashes. Once you get through, wait times can range from 10 to 30 minutes. Even then, responses from agents take 5 to 10 minutes, and the chat frequently times out, forcing you to repeat the entire process. This network is incredibly frustrating!

ID Mobile were outstanding myself and my partner ordered our new phones on Sat the 29th of November

ID Mobile were outstanding myself and my partner ordered our new phones on Sat the 29th of November and they arrived on Sunday the 30th by DPD at 11.30 in the morning we sent our PAC codes to ID and the nos were changed within 48 hours . What can I say other than Outstanding !! The signal is perfect we have our original numbers and are now saving over £50 per month the costs are unbelievable and the service has been excellent the app is so easy to use . I would highly recommend ID Mobile well done what a service and if I could give more than five stars i would they put our old provider to Shame .Keep up the good work .

While on a low-cost pay-as-you-go plan, I experienced significant mobile data connectivity issues with certain cloud services, including location services, rendering them unusable for an extended time. After identifying consistent replication steps and engaging with the complaints department over six weeks with multiple contacts, they failed to effectively gather and address the information I provided, leading to my decision to discontinue.
