Lazy Boy quality has gone downhill.

We made a large purchase of evidently a faux leather sofa, loveseat, and two recliners in March 2025. They were delivered in July of 2025. We were greatly disappointed to see how lazy boy quality has dropped. This furniture was not constructed like ours we purchased in 1997. Our former furniture was heavier with wood construction. These new ones are light furniture, evidently with particle board. And reclining mechanism is loud and noisy unlike ours we bought in 1997 that were quiet and smooth in operation. If we had only known about lazy boy’s cheaper quality we would have purchased another brand. We wasted a lot of money.

Salesroom was great, Delivery is not

I purchased a La-Z-Boy on December 13, 2024 from the La-Z-Boy store on Airport Highway in Toledo, OH. Since the chair was not in stock, I was told it would need to be manufactured and would arrive sometime the first of February 2025. I am not clear what the issue is, but every time I trace the shipment, I am told it will be manufactured at the factory in two weeks. I have made several calls and always get the same answer.Today is April 7, 2025 and I was again told it will be ready to ship from the factory in about two weeks. While I am not sure where the issue is, I am beginning to lose patience. These recliners are not inexpensive by any means and I would expect La-Z-Boy to live up to their promises, but they are not. This is not a reflection on the store itself, in fact they were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. It is the La-Z-Boy company that has dropped the ball.I suggest if you are looking to purchase a La-Z-Boy you only consider furniture they have in stock or consider a different brand.

We have been Lazy Boy customers for 30…

We have been Lazy Boy customers for 30 yrs and have never had a problem with any of there furniture until this last couch we bought. I have to say they really tried to fix the problem with this couch which was an electrical recliner sofa so we spent $3500 on it. They switched out the backs but the backs were still the same discomfort that the originals were. In the end the store we have been buying from for 30 yrs did give us in store credit to buy another sofa which just arrived yesterday and we are totally happy with this couch. It’s the couch that should have been with us in the beginning. They did stand by us and did make things right. So even though I know this is a not so happy customer site I did want to give my experience. They do make quality furniture, and this is coming from someone who’s grandfather made furniture and did re-upholstery as a side job who just did word of mouth advertising. Not saying that theirs is as good as his cause he was really really good but as far as the big box stores goes I really do think that they are the best that is out there.

Devoid of customer service

I am the regretful owner of a Lazy Boy Redwood recliner. I bought it because it's the biggest recliner I could find, and it's rated for larger people. (I'm 6'3" and around 320lb) I purchased it from Slumberland in Stevens Point, WI in October. It's still in pristine condition, as it doesn't get heavy use being in the spare room downstairs. I dozed off in the chair one evening while watching tv downstairs, and woke up on my back with my feet in the air and the chair flipped backwards. I was quite startled. I stood up and flipped the chair back upright and everything looked normal. I didn't know what to think, so I slowly sat back down, and the left side of the chair started sagging, so I quickly stood back up. I rolled the chair forward, expecting to see broken wood, but instead what I saw looked perfectly normal. It wasn't until I started trying to rock the base back and forth that I realized what had happed. A screw broke on the curved piece of wood that the base rests on. I thought I was lucky, as I knew this would be a quick, easy fix. No cracked or broken wood, no bent or broken metal. Just a screw and some wood glue, and everything would be fine. That was until I was informed it would be 5 or 6 WEEKS before a tech would make it to my house to fix it. Now, I have a claim open on it, so if I fix it myself, I void the warranty. And I called Lazy Boy corporate offices and they were less than helpful. The lady that I spoke with was actually very condescending. I told her I had been a loyal Lazy Boy customer for 30 years, and this had been the 7th recliner I had bought. But if I had to wait this long to get my chair fixed, I promise there will never be an eighth. Her reply was "if your willing to waste 30 years of satisfaction over having to wait a little while to get your chair fixed, well that's up to you". Their so called warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Why should I have to wait 5 or 6 weeks to get a screw replaced???

Do not get the Guardian protection…

Do not get the Guardian protection plan. It is a scam and they will deny any claim you send. Look them up on the BBB and you will see that for yourself.

Buyer do your homework

We bought two recliners and both are broken. We let the sales manager talk us into having a service tech come out and adjust the chairs because our feet wouldn't touch the ground, and it did not work. Now they will not replace the chairs. Sad!

Buyer Beware!

Want to strongly caution buyers of the LB Consultation Service. We hired this service and even though they came in with tape measures, laser measuring and computer software, we wound up with a table too big for our space. They refused to take any responsibility on the grounds the ability to walk around the table was not discussed. What a joke!

DO NOT buy anything from Lazyboy in…

DO NOT buy anything from Lazyboy in North Vancouver, BC I put a poor review on Google and their response was a lie. When I bought it they promise the moon and the stars that you can get it cleaned and that it's guaranteed! This is their response which is a lie I didn't decline they wouldn't follow through with their promise of a guaranteed cleaning. Do not make the same mistake I made and I recommend buying from some where else! (We are sorry you feel this way. We are confused by your review since our service department offered a courtesy spot-cleaning and you declining it.)

This are our third set of recliners

This are our third set of recliners, and by far the worst. First chairs lasted about 15 years, second ones lasted barely 8 years. These new chairs creak and groan something horrible. I suspect they will be junk before the warranty expires. The cushions are horrible and constantly shift.
