Tyler
LazyBoy Reluctant Buyer

We bought a Lazy Boy electric double recliner 3 seater from Tukwila store in Wa. back in early summer. The floor model we approved of was not the same couch we received. In two weeks it turned into a 30 year old couch. The bottom cushion on left side had weak cushioning, the back cushion also weak. I sink 4 inches and cannot have any back support unless I cram myself backwards as I sit so as to push my back into the cushion about 4 inches to get any support. The armrest is way to hi to use without getting shoulder discomfort.. We had Lazyboy replace bottom cushion once and it was good for 2-3 weeks before it collapsed like the original so now I sit on two pillows and still deal with lame back cushion and no armrest (too high). Saving up to hire a professional to rebuild/restuff the cushioning correctly. Serve yourself well- shop anywhere else but L.B. It's been a $3000.00 DISSAPOINTMENT. Our last couch, a Wayfair o/l purchase was way comfortable @ $800.00 and lasted years and always comfortable. Big Regrets, Wayne-o

Another solid Company sacrifices their values

La Z Boy Garbage My Personal Experience with La-Z-Boy: A Lesson in DisappointmentOnce upon a time, La-Z-Boy was a household name synonymous with high-quality furniture and unmatched comfort. My family, like many others, trusted the brand implicitly. When it came time to furnish my living room with a recliner, La-Z-Boy was my first and only choice. I expected the same reliability and quality my parents experienced decades ago when they purchased their La-Z-Boy furniture. Instead, what I got was an ongoing nightmare of poor craftsmanship, abysmal customer service, sluggish repair processes, and a company seemingly uninterested in accountability.A Disastrous ProductThe disappointment began almost immediately after purchasing a high-end recliner from La-Z-Boy. At first, the chair seemed fine—comfortable and stylish, as advertised. However, within a few months, it became clear that the quality was far below expectations. The cushions began sagging noticeably, and the reclining mechanism, which was supposed to be the hallmark feature, started making grinding and squeaking noises. The back felt loose and wobbly, as though it might break off at any moment. In fact, it did eventually break… What shocked me the most was how quickly the recliner began making noises. Despite being marketed as durable, the springs made an awful noise and the recliner as a whole was just terribly noisy after just a few months of light use. Friends and family who visited my home even commented on how “used” the chair seemed, despite it being practically new. It was embarrassing and infuriating, especially given the premium price I had paid.By the six-month mark, the recliner was no longer comfortable to use. The padding and springs in the seat and backrest had broken down so much that sitting for any length of time left me with a sore back. The structural integrity of the chair was so poor that I genuinely wondered if it would hold up another year. The chair leaned back so far, I would end up looking at the ceiling, La-Z-Boy amazingly assured me this was normal not realizing I purchased the exact same chair 5 years prior. When comparing them side by side, the defect was obvious.Terrible Customer ServiceWhen I first noticed the issues, I reached out to La-Z-Boy customer service, hoping to resolve the problems quickly. What followed was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. After waiting on hold for over an hour, I was finally connected to a representative who seemed completely uninterested in helping me. Their responses were curt, dismissive, and, frankly, condescending.I explained the issues with the recliner, including the sagging cushions, noisy mechanism, and unusual orientation. The representative assured me that they would “file a claim” and that someone would get back to me. Weeks passed, and I heard nothing. I called back, only to be told that my case was still “under review.” After repeated follow-ups, they finally agreed to send a technician to assess the chair.Sluggish and Unreliable Service TechniciansWhen the technician visit was scheduled, I thought I was finally making progress. Unfortunately, the service technician arrived over an hour late with no communication or apology. Once they inspected the chair, their conclusion was dismissive: “Normal wear and tear,” they said, despite the fact that the chair was only a year old. They also informed me that parts needed to be ordered for the repair, which would take “a few weeks.” A few weeks turned into months, during which I repeatedly called to check on the status, only to be told that the parts were “on backorder.” When the parts finally arrived, the technician scheduled another visit—only to not show up. I had to reschedule yet again, costing me more time and frustration. When the technician eventually did complete the repair, it was clear they were undertrained or simply uninterested in doing the job properly. The mechanism was still noisy, and the cushion replacement barely improved the sagging issue.Warranty: An Empty PromisePart of the reason I initially felt confident in my purchase was La-Z-Boy’s advertised warranty. However, the warranty process turned out to be a complete sham. Every issue I raised was met with resistance and excuses. “That’s not covered,” they said, or “That’s considered normal wear.” It felt as though they were doing everything possible to avoid honoring their commitments.Even the few issues they did agree to address took an absurd amount of time to resolve. Replacement parts were delayed for months, and the overall lack of communication left me feeling abandoned as a customer.Lack of Accountability and Poor Quality Control

I will never buy a chair from Lazy-boy…

I will never buy a chair from Lazy-boy again! I wanted a quality chair, I paid over $700 for a recliner, and it's a piece of junk. First of all, I ordered it online, and after watching many videos and reading the size, saying it was for tall men, I bought it. It isn't for tall men! Because I bought it for a Christmas gift, by the time we set it up, it was too late to return or exchange it. The first day my husband sat on it, it made his back hurt. We have had it for probably about 2 years now, and one of the armrests is flat! There is barely any filling in it anymore. I was so disappointed! I would have been better off just buying a cheap no brand name chair.

Recliner/lift chair … WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP

I had believed that laz a boy was the the apex of recline lift chairs … DO NOT WALK … DO NOT RUN … DO NOT DRIVE … TAKE A VERY FAST JET TO GET AWAY … after 1 year … $4000 later … I DEEPLY REGRET … having ever call them … the vibrator broke twice … remember that is in 1 year of use … there is so little padding in the seat … that I feel a board gouging into my tailbone … remember that is in 1 year of use …

Wife bought 5k worth of lazy boy chair and couch in leather. I have had 10 LB chairs in my life all 100% phenomenal chairs. These current chairs and couch are garbage not made well at all. Guess it’s no surprise. All about the money and can careless about a good product. Bound to happen to lazyboy too!🤬

Do not buy. Quality is not what it once was.

Do not buy. Quality is not what it once was.The quality of the recliner and reclining loveseat that we purchased less than two months ago is extremely poor. The reclining lever is absolutely near impossible to pull, even after having someone come out to adjust it. One of the arm cushions looked like it was missing half of the stuffing and had to be opened up and restuffed by a technician. When the footrest is raised, it is extremely wobbly on each one of the recliners and, also to exert the pressure needed to fully recline is almost impossible unless you have a lot of upper body weight. Loose threads are sticking out all over and the quality of the fabric is just not what it used to be. We had la-z-boy furniture in the past that lasted over 20 years and it was still in much better shape than our new furniture. I wish we hadn't given it away but thought purchasing the new la-z-boy furniture would give us new, high quality furniture again. WRONG! We will never buy La-z-boy again and I would warn anyone else against buying it.

Regret buying a reclining sectional

Bought a reclining sectional from a La-z-boy store, when it was delivered they didn’t include the brackets and the wood in an arm was broken. It took weeks to mail me the brackets to connect the sections and months to get a new arm rest shipped and a repairman to replace it. We have a dog and with in weeks the fabric began to pill and fray. Now, not even a year & half old, one of the foot rests is bending and the recliner won’t close! The sofa has been trash!

Well I had been purchasing Lazy Boy…

Well I had been purchasing Lazy Boy recliners for many years up to now. The quality of the once famous Lazy Boy Recliner has bottomed out. The design allowing the back to lay back SUCKS. You can hardly sit in them without falling back even with constant adjustments. 5 years on last one with leather pealing. No More

Run DO NOT Walk from Lazy Boy!

Run DO NOT Walk from Lazy Boy!! I purchased a "leather" sectional sofa in 04/2019, with all the bells and whistle warranties available. My sofa started peeling after only being 4 years and 5 months old! Leather doesn't peel. The sales person sold it as a leather sofa. This is fraud. The sales people say how wonderful the warranties are. They are NOT. The warranty will not cover anything that is not "accidental". Meaning if you don't sit down on your piece of furniture with a very sharp object that would puncture the material then it will not be covered. I followed their service request form and filled it out in Sept of 2023 heard nothing. I followed up with Lazy Boy 11/27/23 only to be told that it was not a manufacturer defect. They have their telephone representative read from a script that the issue is not a manufacturer defect. They will give you another phone number to call. You sit on hold only to be hung up on! I would never give a 1 star to Lazy Boy but you had to give a star to be able to review.Bottom line...find another furniture store with better warranties and a company that will stand behind their product. Lazy Boy does not!!
