Excellent service and great shoes! I ordered them on Thursday and they arrived Friday. I wore them 3 times before a 145 mile day and no blisters or discomfort. I owned a pair of Lakes in the early 2000’s but I’m sticking with them now.
I own three pairs of Lake. I have owned other shoes, but nothing fits as good. I end up trying other brands only to sell them nearly new so that I can replace them with Lake. Although I like to try out different products, when it comes to my shoes, I always stick with Lake. Obviously touch points are a very personal decision, and these may not work for you. I strongly recommend giving them a try if you haven’t. They can be expensive, but they do last forever.
My MX239 Wide have been the absolute best fitting wide shoe I’ve ever worn. I came from a Sidi Dragon Mega which isn’t a cheap shoe - and they weren’t anywhere near as wide in the forefooot. The Lake have been the most comfortable and shoe I’ve bought - and I’ve tried many brands. Lake a on the high end of budget for sure. I would love to see some better sales or discounts but I guess you can’t expect that in the current model year. Worth the money if you can spend it.
I got MX242 last Friday. I tried them on 3 times 2 hours at a time and walked around inside my house. I decided they were the correct size. I biked my first 40 mile ride on Monday, then another 40 on Tuesday, and my first 50 miles on Saturday! I started biking 3 years ago and I never could do over 30-35 miles because my feet would be sore or have numbness . These MX242 gave me the ability to have no more pain!! Thank you to Lake Shoes!!
While the shoes are well made, the perfect fit tool picked CX 239 Wide. This was due to my in step and width. Unfortunately they are extremely uncomfortable. I have worn them twice and cannot get through a ride. I should have picked the CX 302 wide. Lesson learned
