I returned a faulty item, however, Lighting Direct aren't prepared to offer a refund as the item got chipped between when it was packaged up and sent back, and when it arrived at the warehouse. This I could accept, but the tone of the email from Customer Services (Jayne Bates, Returns Co-ordinator) was actually quite rude, stating that my builders must have caused the damage when 'carelessly' repacking the item. I don't think there was any need to make an accusation like this by email, when the damage could have been caused along the drive or when being unpacked back at the warehouse. Very disappointed with the response and will shop elsewhere in future, based on the Customer Service received.
Shocking customer service; order delayed repeatedly. Cursory email communication with no follow up. Still awaiting items after nearly 4 weeks. Even a phone call to Lyco and associated assurances from the customer service team still has not seen the items arrive. Would not recommend and certainly will not use again.
Very wide choice of wall lights with the specific criteria we were looking for, at what felt like a fair price. Helpful, well organised website. Prompt and responsive to pre purchase email question, although the call and voicemail left never got a reply (hence the follow up email, so that's one small area for them to review/ reflect on I guess - if you're business is better set up for emails rather than phone then let customers know that, I guess). To be clear, the email got an immediate response.
The experience started with Castlegate Lighting, a sister company of Lighting Direct. I'd enquired re replacement bulbs for a fitment I'd bought from Castlegate. They quickly directed me to Lighting Direct who then handled the order very promptly. Price was very reasonable, and competitive with local retailers in London, even though it included a delivery charge
Purchased the Lucia Dixie outdoor light. Superb quality, clearly built to last and a doddle to install. Received by postal courier 2 days after purchase in rural Scotland ( excellent service) highly recommend and will definitely be purchasing from LD again as we update our new home.
