2 words for login.gov: Cumbersome and frustrating. It was supposed to make your access to government services more secure and convenient but all it does is block access. Ever since the VA decided to add levels of security by using login.gov, I only have issues. What is the point of having users carry around or memorize a 16 digit key, along with username and password? And, heaven forbid, you don't have your 16 digit key, you have to submit pictures of your identification documents.... AGAIN! This site should be taken down IMMEDIATELY, especially after the inquiries to the GSA about its' security were ignored by the government. I just want to have open lines of communication with my care team at the VA and all this site does is create barriers without any noticable added security.
Login.gov is total crap! I’ve been trying since September 2024 to get this set up and as of March 5 I am locked out of my own MyHealthyVet and Social Security account. Don’t even think about blaming Trump because this whole thing was set up by the Biden administration. And don’t waste your time calling the help line, they are quick to tell you they can’t help.
Thanks to login.gov I no longer have access to the VA and SSA. When one uses their browser to login the user name/email and passwords are automatically stored. I went to login into the VA and check the massage my email said I had. The login said my email and or password is invalid. Do you think I could get a new password to work, but noooo. They sent me an email stating that I had to delete my account and start all over again and everyone know what a killjoy that is. I think I'll wait and see once enough retiree's raise Cain that someone will take notice and come up with a better idea. I've made a half dozen complaints to the VA so far.
This is the worst government login system. It does not authenticate. I updated my password and tried to login. I used the code in my profile and it did not authenticate. You can only use the one time, but in order to get the new or updated code you need to log in. I have tried to update my phone number to use for authentication but it keeps referring to a number i haven't used in 10 years. I have been trying to use government websites for too long to get and update my personal information that is held hostage in a system that will not allow me access. Trying to contact personnel is of no use because they do not answer calls, when they do they know nothing or place you on hold for longer than two hours. LOGIN.GOV is the worst!!!!!!!
I am a USAF retired MSgt, and LOGIN.GOV worked to apply for Social Security, yet, when the very same email address and password if used for the USAF myFSS, the UNITED STATES AIR FORCE abdicated OPSEC to another agency, GSA, and their contractor who is running LOGIN.GOV. This works like this.ADDITION: THE USAF have created Fraud, Waste, and Abuse called OKTA Verify, and tried to make that abortion Add-On to LOGIN.GOV and effectively create Abuse of Veterans trying to retire; trying to get their Final Retirement Order; Military Retirement; and access their own military records under myFSS.ANOTHER ADDITION: within TOTAL FORCE under the command of a 2-star General, the CTR s (contractors) and GS s will tell you that you cannot get into myFSS because no profile has been created for the reservist. Just why not? Why was there no access between the time of retiring with a DD256 Honorable Discharge and processing your DD 2656 Retirement form? Why the Fraud, Waste, and Abuse of Veterans who served and earned their retired ID card and retirement pay.Write to ARPC and tell them to DOGE OKTA Verify, and stop harassing Veterans. 1. go to this link https myfss. us. af. mil/USAFCommunity/s/ 2. you see LOGIN.gov, then you enter your email address and password; then you enter your cell phone number3. you are directed by your computer to go to a the text message sent to you with a link. You click it4. then, with your phone you take a photo or upload your state ID5. then OKTA verify verifies the ID and tells you to go back to your computer and continue trying to access myFSS6. on the computer, you can see the information populated from your state ID card7. you verify that LOGIN.gov got it right and don't change anything8. then you enter your social security number, the same number that is on hundreds of military documents9. show the number so you don't mishit a key10. verify the social security number and hit SUBMIT11. then LOGIN.GOV says "We couldn't find records matching your personal information"12. Then GSA / LOGIN.GOV gives you 4 tries and locks you out for 6 hours. 13. repeat process and Veterans are denied service14. USAF VETERANS ARE DENIED ACCESS TO myFSS by GSAHOW DID LOGIN.GOV WORK FOR SSA - SOCIAL SECURITY, BUT THE VERY SAME EMAIL AND PASSWORD DON'T WORK TO ACCESS myFSS FOR THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCELOGIN.GOV IS NOT EVEN A 1-STAR, IT IS A ZEROWHOEVER THE GENERAL OFFICER IS IN THE AIRFORCE THAT ALLOWS VETERANS TO BE DENIED SERVICE BY LOGIN.GOV SHOULD BE DEMOTED TO 2nd Lt AND FIREDWHOEVER THE CONTRACTING OFFICER IS IN THE AIR FORCE THAT GAVE A PENNY OR AUTHORIZATION TO GSA SHOULD HAVE HIS / HER WARRANT YANKED AND BE FIRED.NOW I WILL BE FILING FOIA s TO THE AIR FORCE TO FIND OUT WHO THIS GENERAL OFFICER IS AND WHO THE CONTRACTING OFFICER IS.WE VETERANS WILL NOT TOLERATE THE AIR FORCE TO ABDICATE THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES TO LOGIN.GOV.I recommend that ALL USAF Veterans do not use the LOGIN.GOV to access myFSS, and instead write to the USAF FOIA Freedom of Information Act Request to get any and all records held under your rank and SSN, and the Air Force will have, by law, 20 days to provide you your records. IF YOU ARE BLOCKED EVEN 1 TIME BY LOGIN.GOV, file a FOIA FOR YOUR RECORDS WITHOUT EXCEPTION. ALL VETERANS NEED TO FILE A FOIA FOR THEIR myFSS RECORDS IN ORDER FOR THE AIR FORCE TO GET THE MESSAGE THAT WE WILL NOT TOLERATE LOGIN.GOV BLOCKING OUR ACCESS TO OUR VERY OWN RECORDS. RETIRED MSgt
