15 attempts and 5 hours , I was finally identified but who ever signed off on the process should be sacked. I thought I was ok with the digital age being 62 but this one almost snookered me which would have led to Companies house fining me. I agree with all the negative comments. I gave it a poor score of 1 but really this was far too generous. Take this process down and get it fixed. The impact on people's mental health is really poor. Hopefully some one who is accountable will read and action this.
If i could give this 0 i would. From a gov run site this is terrible. You cannot use the authenticator app while on your phone as you need to scan the QR code ya fricking numtpties!! No text message arriving.Just a really bad way to sign in, absolute trash
Login.gov is an embarrassment and should be disbanded. They should get zero stars but that is not an option. The date of my experience is the entire month of January - I spoke to five live representatives (the trick is push 1,2,1 and then wait for one to come on the phone), but don't expect for them to actually help you because they are reading from a script. My issue is that they could not authenticate me because I retired and changed my mobile phone number and email address. The last three reps said that there is no fix or workaround and one even recommended I go to the SSA office and have them read me my letters. I tried with ID.me where they can authenticate by documents rather than a second mobile phone number. It took me two hours but they did it. Don't waste you time with Login.gov, they are worthless.
To be forced by the government to turn over a picture of myself to access the my money they are holding hostage makes me feel very negatively toward this process. I assume its because the SSA IT folks are so bad they have to put the security burden on the American people because they are not up to the job as opposed to the govt. using my picture for evil. Never actually was able to enter the site the technical picture loading failures along with the timeout failures stopped me, can you give less than one star?
I am 66 and renewing my driving licence under the ten year renewal rule. I am not an anti technology old numpty and embrace computer and smartphone usage and always have. However, setting up the account for the "GOV.UK One Login" service has proved impossible. Even after following the set up and log in instructions to the letter, with a combination of Laptop and smartphone input, it was "unable to confirm my identity". So, I will now have to pay an additional six quid and drive 15 miles to the nearest Post Office that offers the Driving Licence renewal service.
