Review Time
This agency is by far the dumbest government agency I've had to deal with. Served in my beloved Corps. Got out 20 years ago. I have friends that have recently convinced me to apply for benefits. However It seems that l had created a profile with a different phone number decades ago which I no longer had access to. According to their process, I was going to receive a letter in the mail. Letter received, followed the instructions through the web browser and received an error code. When I spoke to Paula with Login.gov on 12/20 she said that someone will get in touch with me but could not specify date or time I would be receiving this call. It's now almost March and I haven't received a call back. I gave them a call this morning. They now have an automated message saying that if you no longer have access to the phone number on the account, that you have to delete it. How am I going to delete an account I can't access. Furthermore, to drive home the point, I could have easily threatened them so they could send the Feds, easily getting verified huh? Buncha DERPS.Typical government procedures to make account recovery and changes such a cumbersome process. While they give money hand over fist to illegals. JFC.
These people are a joke. Sit on the phone holding for SSA fit 1.5 hours. They can't figure out why login.gov is denying login and i should call login.gov. I call them and get an answer right away but the kid says to call SSA. I asked to talk to a supervisor and he just says, they will say the same to you and is there anything else he could do for me. THEN HANGS UP!!! So unhelpful. I wouldn't trust them at this point.
It continues to be a daunting site: It's for citizens, many impaired, older not computer literate. There is absolutely no need for the number of steps required to prove one's identity. It not dealing in financial transactions much as a bank which must safeguard peoples' money. Noting the paucity of good reviews, there are more than enough concerns for the masters of the site to take notice and simply the process. To continue to do nothing is unacceptable.
Constantly entering email and sending send then resend, resend,...................................resend.Never advances to next step. Never accepts email. Thinks I should try a different email but doesn't say whose I should try.
Their portal will not accept my ID photo/scan. This is very discriminatory. It's age discriminatory, economic and class discriminatory. The fact that none of my stuff; computer camera, scanner, or phone is good enough for their crappy internet interface, is almost criminal. I am a disabled American veteran, and all I want is a friggin ID !!!!!!!!
