There was no need to ring me

I received a phone call a couple of weeks ago from, Lowells - saying there has been another mobile number added to my account - they said his name was called, Caine! The Customer. I asked why are they contacting me because I’ve gone through a bankruptcy and was dissolved 12 months later - in 2019 so I’m unsure why they have telephoned me!!

Phone call

I received a phone call today from lowells regarding ccj debts from around 2005 and 2009.The lady said I was still liable to pay these debts and they can be enforced even though I've heard nothing from any debtors for over 13 years I explained that these debts are now statute barred to which I was told there not. I then spoke to a supervisor (Nick7453) who confirmed these debts are not statute barred and still enforceable. He also notified me he would not stop contacting me by phone or in writing even though I've requested this on medical grounds. I've researched all sites regarding ccj's after 6 years. Can a debt be chased after 6 years? The time limit is sometimes called the limitation period. For most debts, the time limit is 6 years since you last wrote to them or made a payment. I have now requested lowell to prove that the debt is not statute barred and to cease contacting me by trying to enforce dated debt.I have also made a complaint and I'm awaiting the outcome. I will update later. Thanks for your reply Ben, what more details do you require .if you read the above..the supervisors name and extention no is there. The statute barred template from the citizens advice bureau has been emailed to: enquiries emailThe complaint has been emailed to;Complaintsresolution email

Inaccurate Information

Received an email from a no reply email with my name referencing a debt for a company I don’t even have any contracts with. The email also shows the company has a 5-star rating with TrustPilot which is clearly false. Called the number in the email (0333 556 5700) and spoke with a representative who asked for my name. I advised I did not want to give my name in case this was a scam. He said he could not proceed without security checks or I could communicate with them via email. I then asked for two seconds while I quickly look up the company. He asked if I was doing a search on Google to which I responded yes. He then promptly disconnected the call. *** UPDATE 18-Dec-2023 ***After the response from Lowell to this review, I tried calling back the number and spoke to another representative who stayed on the phone line this time. I provided only the information I saw they had from my email. It seems they do have a “debt” amount, but not one I agree I owed. That company was paid up and the balance they claimed I owed was very small (under £70) which they say I’ve owed for nearly 10 years but only now am getting contacted about. I asked for backup of the amount owed since it does not match my memory and they were unable to provide sufficient back up. So, although the initial call made me believe this was a fraudulent company, perhaps they may be legitimate although in my case the “debt” is not. I’ve never had any debts so this experience was not nice. This could be an issue with the company they purchased the debt from though. In any event, based on today’s call I have changed my rating from 1 star to 3 stars because the representative did seem to be honest.

Honestly awful to deal with

Honestly awful to deal with, they closed my accounts and wiped the balances but are still falsely reporting that I owe the full balance each month, I've gathered my evidence and will be reporting it to the ICO and Credit Reporting Agencies.Edit: Rebecca, Lowell wiped the debt (Therefore nothing to pay!!) and closed both accounts therefore the balance is at zero.Edit 14/12/2023 - Regardless. You are falsely reporting to the credit reporting agencys that I'm not paying a balance you wiped, your email also stated 'we will no longer be pursuing you for the accounts and the accounts shall not be passed on to any other company'Edit 19/12/2023So Lowell seems to think that my review isn't genuine, so I've provided Trustpilot with the proof that my accounts were closed and 'paid off'
