Review Time
We ordered a bed that said on the listing would ship in about 4 weeks. We've now received two emails saying they're extending the lead time another month, who knows when the bed will really ship. The lead time on their site is a complete fabrication.
@luluandgeorgia employs anti-consumer and money-grabbing tactics. I made a purchase on their website. Prior to paying, I saw nothing to suggest that I would not be able to cancel my order if necessary. After paying, I received an email from the company stating that there the order was immediately final, without even the smallest time frame for cancellation. This is very much contrary to the spirit and letter of long-standing consumer protection laws. Unfortunately, I did need to cancel the order. I promptly sent an email to customer support. @luluandgeorgia does not have any available telephone or online support, so emailing was my only option. I was certain that in fairness, the order could be canceled, as the website did state that the item would ship in 5-7 days. I alerted them of my need to cancel within hours. After a day or so, I received an email from a representative, stating that she would “look into” canceling my order. Because I had not received any notification of shipping and my email was sent so quickly, they had ample time to cancel the order if they had any interest in fairness and service. When I did not hear back and also did not receive notice of shipping, I reached out again as asked for confirmation of my cancellation. I also informed the company that I would have to request assistance from my credit card issuer if I did not receive confirmation. Only at that point did the representative tell me that they had proceeded with shipping—notwithstanding knowledge of my cancellation. She also told me that they will process a return of the item at significant cost to me. @luluandgeorgia will force me to purchase goods that I immediately informed them I could not accept. Or alternatively, they will force me to pay for shipment that was always within their control to stop. I am sure they will blame system automation for this. But that doesn't cut it. Their systems are what they make them. Foreclosing any cancellation, whatsoever, is a choice that benefits them to the detriment of the consumer. Frankly, it was not all that automatic. They had days to cancel. I deeply regret ever going on the @luluandgeorgia website. I recall purchasing furniture from @crateandbarrel and being made to feel that my happiness with the purchase was paramount—even if I changed my mind. They made buying from them feel easy and comfortable. My interaction with @luluandgeorgia will be costly and I will have nothing to show for it. Avoid this company.
I’ve had a pretty rough experience with Lulu & Georgia. I spent nearly 10k on lighting and furniture to furnish a master bedroom. What started assomewhat positive experience and since flipped 180. It started with a dresser that came with misaligned drawers. They provided resolution that I accepted. Then a damaged lighting fixture, for which I accepted a price adjustment (making it final sale) before realizing that it was completely crooked on installation. Then multiple bed deliveries with the same defect. Customer service has since been giving me the run around without resolution. I had a custom fabric order on a bench that took nearly three months to make and it came with PLASTIC legs, not the wood carved legs that the description promised. On top of that, it looks like it was sewed by someone blindfolded. The quality is totally crap for the high price paid. I’m so incredibly disappointed that not one item has arrived in good condition, especially with how expensive this place is.
We ordered the Yucca sofa with Lulu & Georgia on 10/08 and had an advertised delivery window of 6-8 weeks. We were looking forward to host some holiday celebrations at our house with the new sofa. However, the delivery date got pushed out further and further. We couldn’t host any celebrations and whenever we were given a new date, the delivery date got pushed out again on the days the sofa was supposed to be shipped. Very frustrating experience. The chat was not reachable a couple of times and email responses often took 2 days or longer. We are in week 15 now and still no trace of the sofa. We decided to cancel the order today and order another sofa somewhere else. Another unusual and unpleasant store practice is that the purchase price gets charged full at the moment of purchase and not when the sofa is shipped (as is common with many other stores). Therefore, the money is gone fast, but the merchandise doesn’t come on time. I would not recommend the store.
I have never left a review but the experience I have had with Lulu and Georgia has truly been terrible. I ordered a bed in early June, with the estimated delivery being 3-5 weeks. It is now September 23 and I just received the product. They sent a wrong part for the bed, making the bed dysfunctional and the delivery service had to take it back. The communication has been absolutely awful, with no clear answers on updates on the order or estimated delivery dates. For how expensive this product is, this should not be an issue. I am beyond disappointed with this experience.
We recently purchased the Rutherford Round Dining Table from Lulu & Georgia, along with their white glove delivery service. Unfortunately, the table arrived without the correct hardware, and the delivery team could not assemble it.What has been most frustrating is the lack of support — Lulu & Georgia has no customer service phone line, only email. Their team suggested that we source the hardware ourselves (after we already paid for delivery + setup) and offered only $50 as compensation. Their “solution” is essentially for us to spend time hunting for the right hardware ourselves, with a week old newborn, then let them know once we find it so they can send someone back. We now have a $2,400 table sitting in our dining room, unassembled, while we try to track down compatible hardware on our own.Instead of offering to send the proper hardware, they want to make it incredibly inconvenient for our new family. The communication has been slow and sporadic, with no proactive solution offered. For a premium brand charging premium prices, this has been a very disappointing experience. I would caution others to be aware of the lack of direct support before making such a big purchase. Be careful with the white glove option because if anything is missing they will tell you that they are third party and you need to contact the store which begins the cycle while you hunt for parts. We tried Amazon, Lowe’s, Home Depot, tractor supply….We just wanted the product we paid for, set up as promised. It’s disappointing that a company at this price point offers so little support when things go wrong. Instead of sending the hardware it was placed on us. 50$ refund and half off the installment is the measly price for our wasted time.
I waited four months to receive the Neve Bed from Lulu & Georgia and paid for white glove delivery to have the bed built on arrival, only to receive two left sides to the bed, and no right side. They were unable to build the bed, which clearly arrived defective, and because there is NO ONE to talk to at Lulu & Georgia I was left with no option except to have the bed removed and taken back to the warehouse. I've submitted an email request to return the bed and have received no response. So I have no bed, and no news on whether or when I will receive a refund for the over $2500 I spent on the bed. Such a waste of time and money.
I rarely write reviews but was pretty taken aback by the extremely poor quality of a (very expensive!) quilt I recently purchased. On the site, the quilt was an orangey/pink - when it arrived it was brown. Not even close, no way to account for screen differences etc. Customer service was nice enough but repeatedly insisted these were color 'variations' and therefore not their fault. Furthermore, the material was scratchy and cheap-feeling, a number of threads had broken, and the blanket dye had blotched in places. Customer service said loose threads were "not uncommon" and that nothing constituted a manufacturer defect. They refused to give a refund on the (high) shipping costs and granted only an equivalent store credit - which is useless as I have zero desire to shop here again. Stay away.
