trying to open a new saving account online. Web site asked me to call their number and provide additional information to complete opening. Called, spoke with someone who verified all the information (that I already entered). Put on hold and he transfer me to another person to "complete the application", she again ask the very same question to "verify" the info I already "typed" online. This time, she spelled everything out. I pause the process and told her "no thank you". They are offering an online only product, but somehow couldn't even get their act together to streamline the process. I can only imagine banking with them. My sanity and money won't be safe with Marcus by Goldman Sachs.

Transfers to linked accounts are unreliable

The reliability of transferring funds to my linked account has worsened, especially on weekends, which puts me at risk of overdraft fees. I've had to initiate double transfers on two occasions just to ensure the funds are moved. I will be looking for a different savings account.

Smooth CD closure process

I used the app to schedule my CD to close on its maturity date and transfer the funds to a previously linked bank account. The process was seamless, and I received the funds the following day!

Excellent for savings and power of attorney

I manage savings accounts for my father under power of attorney. They offer great rates, and setting up the power of attorney was straightforward (unlike other institutions). Additionally, their phone support is responsive; every time I've called, I've received prompt assistance. Highly recommend - they stand out in the industry.

When everything is running smoothly, it's fantastic. However, if you lose your phone or encounter an issue outside of business hours, the support is limited and communication is lacking. It was great with the service until it became problematic. I want to provide a balanced view on this.

Frustrating and convoluted policies

I opened a CD account and linked it with my traditional bank. Now, I want to close that bank account and link a new one, but the process is overly complicated. They make small deposits to verify the account, require multiple confirmations, and even want a conference call with my bank, which is nearly impossible to set up. I decided to keep my existing account open until my CD matures and won't be using this service again.

Unsatisfactory customer support

Customer service has been inadequate. My account was locked because the system failed to send a verification code to my phone as promised. After multiple attempts to resend the code, I was left on hold for an unreasonable amount of time, enduring terrible hold music. Once I manage to unlock my account, I plan to close it due to their lack of competitiveness and poor service.
