The program has helped a bit but the 4 workouts are repetitive and not that engaging or fun. The style of having a voice over explaining the workout technique (rather than instructor talking directly) and videos filmed at angles which do not show the full movement is annoying. Ultimately they have overcomplicated doing squats and lunges. The patronising mummy motivational chat was not for me either. After 12 weeks I still have work to do,not yet ready for planks or crunches but need to pay for something further to get some variety. Definitely way over priced, particularly as you still need to buy the kit to do the program. Disappointed that i cannot recommend.
I absolutely recommend Mutu! Especially from my experience to people with diastasis recti, and in particular to moms that want their body and confidence back. It is a gentle focused program made to keep you engaged and loving it. When I finished the whole program I felt much more confident, my diastasis disappeared and my body was more toned. It also helped me develop an exercise routine and I’ve managed to keep it, able to do now more exercises that I couldn’t do before. Best investment I’ve made for me and my body.
I have been using Mutu for more than 2 weeks now. I can see the bulge is reduced in size and the intensives are no joke. You will sweat and then feel energized. I am so happy with the results so far. Looking forward to getting healthier and fitter.
I am surprised that even though the movements are so small in the beginning, I can tell I have really strengthened those muscles it is targeting. My gap has not decreased since starting the program, but other good things are happening, so I am giving it more time. I have 2 major (closely related) complaints: 1) the explanation videos in the mutu master class section are often about 3 times as long as they need to be. I don't know if everyone gets the same videos since this is a global program, but the US girl takes a long time to get out the relevant information. I prefer directness. I feel like any official videos with Wendy narrating are very direct and succinct. I prefer that style. The other videos waste so much time. 2) You can not increase the watch speed on any videos. I get why they wouldn't want you to increase the speed on the workouts, but it would help a lot if this was allowed on the masterclasses where they are just explaining general principles.
It helped rebuild my core after my second child. But it's not a magic bullet after 12 weeks and at this point I'm going to do crunches, Pilates, etc. to truly get strong. I thought there would be a different workout each week but they repeat themselves for several weeks in a row. That sort of surprised me. I would give MUTU a 4 overall but am docking a star because I think they charge too much for what you get. $120 is a LOT for 4 10-minute workouts! The price should be more in line with the amount of content you're getting.
I've been following MuTu for a few months now and I'm half way through the system. It's not magic, you get what you put in. But it's a sensible programme of effective exercises which I'm my case at least are showing results. 4 years on from my last baby and finally I can feel the gap iny abdominals closing. I'd recommend it with our hesitation to anyone with the time and genuine desire to follow the programme as it can give excellent results.
