Disappointing and Stressful

We hired a large house in Denmark for a family gathering. There were some good things and some not so good.The house stood in a quiet wooded plot not too far from the sea. For the children there were some good facilities including a small pool, table tennis, swings and sand pit. For the adults there was space to chill out and comfortable beds.Not so good was the general state of the house. There was a general lack of maintenance, paintwork needing attention and weeds in beds around the house. On arrival the house was dirty, floors not cleaned, greasy hand marks on the fridge, wet bathmats and bits of rubbish on the floor. On the first day we had to vacuum the whole house. In the kitchen the oven and the electric hob did not work properly making preparing meals for twelve difficult.Finding the key was also difficult. Part of the house was open on arrival, but half was locked. The key box was not as described and it was only by chance that we discovered a way to open an internal door and access three of the bedrooms before everyone in the family arrived. With only an intermittent phone signal it was not possible to contact Novasol. We thought that we might have to call a locksmith or sleep on the floor.Generally a very stressful and disappointing start to our holiday in a property that cost over £3000 for the week.
