We stayed here during the winter break and the house itself is stunning—tastefully designed and set in a lovely location. We often saw wildlife in the garden, and fresh tracks in the snow showed even more had passed by. Those moments were magical. We chose this house for a mixed group (ages 4 to 72) with very different sleep schedules. Unfortunately, the bedroom layout made that impossible. Three of the four bedrooms have direct access to each other; two are connected with no door at all, and the third has a window-like opening without glass. The fourth bedroom is separate, but it has a floor-to-ceiling opening toward the kitchen/living area, covered only by a flat grille—so sound and light carry straight in. There were no curtains in any room. I had noticed this mentioned in earlier reviews but assumed the February darkness would compensate. It didn’t: bright exterior lights in the eaves and at ground level kept the rooms lit up at night as if we were in the middle of a city. I ended up propping sofa cushions against the windows so our 4-year-old could sleep.I couldn’t find a switch for the outdoor lighting and wrote to the host, but never received a reply regarding that. When we asked where the vacuum cleaner was, we did get a quick response (it’s in the garage, in a hidden compartment behind a mirror). Mixed responsiveness overall. The house has a ground-source heat pump, so I expected reasonable energy usage, but we used around **800 kWh in one week**. That felt high, and I suspect the exterior lighting running all night didn’t help.**Pros*** Beautiful, stylish house in a fantastic setting* Frequent wildlife sightings and peaceful surroundings (when lights aren’t glaring)**Cons*** Bedrooms lack privacy (interconnected rooms; open interior “window”; open grille to living area)* No curtains/blackout options; very bright outdoor lighting at night with no accessible switch* Host responsiveness was inconsistent* High electricity usage (≈800 kWh for one week)**Suggestions to the host*** Add proper doors between the interconnected bedrooms and close the interior “window” opening* Install blackout curtains/blinds in all bedrooms* Provide an accessible switch and clear instructions for the exterior lighting* Make the bedroom configuration crystal-clear in the listing so guests can judge suitability**Overall:** A gorgeous house and location, but currently **not suitable for groups who need quiet, dark, private bedrooms** or have differing sleep schedules. With a few practical fixes, it could be excellent.
Absolutely despicable treatment from Novasol who are managing the house. We booked a house based on the title that it has a sauna, however the sauna is not available during the winter months when we where there. I had it confirmed both written and verbally that it would be available, including on the day of our arrival, but alas... We ended up only going there very briefly to confirm that it was in fact not available, and thus called and asked to cancel and get a refund. They are now claiming that I didn't contact them in due time, so I forfeit my right to a refund as they weren't able to help me solve the issue. What a load of BS. Would NOT recommend anything that Novasol is managing, and I for one will never deal with them again after this treatment!
They are first putting the rate down. Then canceling without notice. I have booked for the house for 3 night. On the first day I had to wait infront of the house for 4 hours and couldn't get into the house. Then, We had to go to hotel to stay overnight.Day after when I call them then they are saying that they have cancel the booking. This is not good.
Novasol has terrible customer service! They had false advertising and when I called them out on it, they were rude and put the blame on me. SHAME ON THEM FOR BEING CON ARTISTS! Be very careful with this company. They use other platforms such as VRBO to post their rentals but they take no responsibility!
Novasol will ignore you.We had a weeklong stay in Italy. The home owner decided they will charge us money for a piece of property that got damaged due to their own ignorance. The home owner kept my deposit thus stealing the money. I asked Novasol for help. First they admited on the phone that this shouldn't have happened. Then while processing my complaint via emails (which took weeks BTW) they completely changed their stance and told me the whole situation was my fault. If you dream of a vacation where for once you won't have to stress because someone competent is taking care of you, then Novasol should not be your choice, ever.
