Review Time
This is going to be a long story so buckle up.I placed my order the last week of March. After not receiving a confirmation number or a tracking number I reached out on April 24th. I told him that I hadn't received any information or confirmation of my order and then I wanted to cancel it since nothing has shipped, and then out of the blue after that message I got a tracking number.I was already feeling very unsure about this purchase so I proceeded to get in touch with PayPal. I received a message from PaintGem on PayPal saying they were sorry and that they would compensate me for what was happening. I emailed them asking for full refund and telling them that I didn't want their product anymore. There was a lot of back-and-forth with the alleged customer service agent until she sent me a photo of their "logistics company" and how it was packed with packages and that's why they were delayed in shipping. But this person didn't know that you can reverse search an image on Google, that's how I found out that the image of their alleged logistics company was just a random photo of a warehouse with boxes that this person found on the internet.So now we only have I been lied once about the shipping of my item but twice about the state of their fake logistics company. I had had enough and I started a Facebook group for people to compare their orders they're shipping times and just vent about this company's unethical behavior.There were actually a couple people that compare tracking numbers and they had the exact same ones. I think fully got all of my money back thanks to my credit card company.When the owner of this company a man called Dan found out about my group "Paint Gem is a Scam" he was more concerned about the reputation of the company then to try and fix what he had done and give reparations to all the customers.I have a thread about 20 emails going back and forth of him telling me that it was illegal to say that they were at scam when they werent but as far as I could tell they have been lying about shipping lying about where packages are and it had been 2 months and I still didn't have anything so as far as I know scam or not they are a shady company.One of the other reasons why I consider this company a scam was that I was commenting on all their photos on Facebook and Instagram about my experience trying to warn other people and they blocked me on everything so I couldn't even get in touch with them via social media if I needed to. If you have nothing to hide then why are you blocking a real customers experience?The group is still active on Facebook under "Paint Gem is Shady" you can see other people's stories about having the same tracking numbers, about people calling the US postal service and being told that they did not have any packages on there those numbers and then they should probably contact their Banks because it was most likely a scam, etc.I finally received my package a week ago so it took three months. It is now sitting at a Goodwill hopefully someone will find enjoyment in it because this company ruined the hobby for me and I want nothing to do with them.I know this review was extremely long but I hope that you made it this far. As a side note the owner was really hung up on the word "scam" so if you see any reviews that's totally not a scam it's probably an inside review from the same company which I wouldn't put it past them.
of course it did take a while to come due to the pandemic, but it was worth the wait. i’m loving my custom photo and kit! my only other issue was that the free diamond pen they sent broke within minutes. but there is another pen included so i don’t mind
I placed an order April 6 and figured I would be a little bit before I got my package due to what’s going on. DM multiple times about my package since it was sitting in Oceanside Ny for a while, was told on May 20th that I would receive my package June 13 (never came). Message them on the day my package was suppose to arrive I received an automated message saying “they are swamped with emails”. When I messaged back the next day no answer. This is really ridiculous, I was super excited about it and now idk if I want to even bother it. I escalated my dispute from PayPal and I’m just waiting for an answer. I feel like Christmas will be here before they answer me. I will never order from them again. Funny how after a couple bad reviews they’re good ones.
I'm giving 4 stars because the company did say shipping could take a while (I was expecting it to take a month or so), but I wasn't expecting it to be a nearly 2 month delay from the date of my order until I received my product. I just can't do full 5 stars. HOWEVER, I was in email communication with the company and they consistently responded to me in a timely manner (the tracking number I had wasn't updating, so they tracked it on their end for me), and I understand shipping issues are largely out of their control. My item did arrive eventually in perfect condition. Give PaintGem a shot and just be understanding that you won't be able to start on your project for a couple months (I am located in the U.S.). PaintGem also offered several ways they could make it right and I chose a free kit. Thank you for a fun new hobby, PaintGem! Your excellent communication is appreciated.
The shipping took a long time (2months), it came from overseas (China I believe), which makes sense why it took that long. I cannot say whether or not this is how long it usually takes, but I suspect not as the reviews before the pandemic were good. I understand thinking it was a scam, but I can assure you it isn’t. I received my full order, plus mystery kit. It was beautifully packaged and I’ve been spending all my free time on these beautiful pieces. I will be ordering more ASAP, even with the wait time because that’s how in love I am with it. I promise you, I DO NOT work for this company. Please please be patient and kind. Go to their Instagram and you will see more people are receiving their kits each day. There are other business (10 times more popular) that are doing far worse with their customers, with no compensation. Give them a chance, you won’t be sorry.
Really good quality and the packaging is so nice. Compared to other brands this is definitely a lot better. It took a while to come in but given the circumstances it’s understandable. They got back to me with any questions I had in a timely fashion. Worth the wait and I can’t wait to finish the kits :)
I placed an order on April 22, and it “shipped” and ended up in Oceanside NY on May 4th, where it’s been “awaiting package acceptance” ever since. They did say there would be COVID-19 delays, but would at most be 20ish days. It’s been 41 for me. That in and of itself doesn’t bother me; I know everything is janky right now because of COVID-19. Repeated attempts to email or message PaintGem on Facebook have resulted in the same copy-paste platitudes and excuses that everyone else is getting. No actual updates about why it’s been so long/where my package is. They did tell me a few weeks ago that it should be delivered in June 13. That was yesterday, and obviously tracking never updated, nor did it actually arrive (not that I expected it to, ha!). I got another message today after emailing, messaging, and posting on their Instagram page, with them saying they’re looking into it with USPS and will update me when they hear from them. Sure, Jan. I’ve filed a PayPal claim and will be escalating if PaintGem never responds to it or my package fails to appear. Don’t waste your time with this company, y’all!
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!! They are incredibly over priced $50 for a 30x40 cm painting is ridiculous. They will bill you right away, but it takes MONTHS for you to actually get your order, and this was not a custom either. Their customer service lies, assuming you actually get a response. They say shipping takes 8-10 business days, mine took almost 3 months. They will make excuses. Their owner Dan will send you messages calling you names and demanding respect when you complain. They will harass you over returning the items if you get refund, even if they tell you to keep them. This company needs to go out of business!! They do not care about the product or the customers only making money.
