Review Time
Order was shipped but never delivered. It's impossible to contact someone at this place by phone so I sent an email and never heard back. I sent another and never heard back. I sent a third and never heard back. Non-existent customer service. Never ever again.
I ordered 3 types of mini petunia seeds from Park. White, yellow and the red, purple, yellow mix. I placed them in my bio dome at the end of Janruary. They germinated in about 7 to 10 days. I transplanted into seedling cups once there were 2 true leaves and roots. However since then they have grown very little. It is almost 3 months later with about 1 inch growth in height and no sign of any flowering. I will not buy again. I wrote review directly on their Web site. It was never posted.
I've been growing plants from seed for many years. Here in New Mexico, I start plants off in a greenhouse and then transfer them outdoors after Memorial Day. Over the years I've ordered, and successfully produced plants, from many sources. This was the first, and last, time I order anything from Park Seed. Of five species ordered, delivered in packets of multiple seeds, three species failed to germinate at all; the other two had germination rates of less than 25%. Customer service provided no service, just a promise to call me back in a week or two to see how things were going. Seeing as how I sowed these plants on March 9th, I don't expect things to be going much better.
Their customer service is horrendous. They lied to me on multiple occasions about ship/delivery dates and would do nothing to make up for their actions. Their seeds and products are ok at best. I would reccomend avoiding doing business with this company at all costs.
I'm not sure about the quality of the product but I am very sure, and disappointed the slowness of their shipping. I ordered 3 packs of seed and they still have not arrived after 5 days in transit.I know, Park Seed is not UPS or the Postal Service, but they are responsible for choosing the carrier.
This place illegally is charging me for plants I did not order!!!! I placed a small order for garden plants and after my purchase I did not receive an email confirmation. There is not a way to look up your purchases on their website. After this, I felt it was odd and began to read reviews. I found several upon several bad emails regarding this company. I immediately sent the company an email to cancel my order and also contacted my bank to halt payment. The bank was closed due to it being the weekend. I have now received an email stating my purchase which is lore than double the amount and also lists FIVE items I did not purchased!!! I have called and called this company and never receive an answer nor do they have a voicemail. Each email reply I receive a s a generic response. This place is a scam!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!
I saw they had free shipping, so I spent over an hour of my precious time selecting 15 seed packs. After I puting billing, shipping and payment information I get hit with a $20 shipping fee and a $2.95 handling fee!!I have a web-based direct to consumer business. I understand that there is no such thing a free shipping. Customers pay one way or the other. I also advertise “free shipping” over a certain dollar amount. But the customer pays because it is factored into our prices. In my case with Parks, shipping is factored into the prices I paid, then they charged me again, but $20 for 15 seed packs has got to have another profit margin in it. Wait, there's more! They also assessed a $2.95 handling fee!!I appears Parks is owned by a private equity sponsor. Not good people to deal with.
Ironically, 2 days ago when I wrote my 1 star review of Park Seed--they were getting ready to send my 2020 order--including the plant I had been trying to replace or be compensated for since last April. The order arrived today. I was astounded. I still feel sad it came to this because I've enjoyed all my dealings with this company up until last April. I looked for a note of explanation, but nothing was included in the box except for the plants and packing slip. I appreciate my plea was finally heard, but a note of explanation would have been a nice touch. At any rate, the complaint is now resolved. Just wanted you all to know.
Well so far my experience with their seed is dismal. Ordered begonia seed, pack of 30 only 5 germimated. Snapdragon seed is by far the worst. I will wait a little longer but as of now only 2 seedlings out of 50 or so seeds started of 1 variety, may be a few more in another variety. I started some 2018 seed I saved at home, ALL GERMINATED. I have photos to shared sorry Park Seeds worse than poor results. At this point I would recommend any other company EXCEPT PARK SEED. Sadly I bought way too many seed packets on my first order with this company. Advice.... Order a packet or 2, do a trial germination before ever order more from this company. Better advice.... Find a different company for your seed purchases.
I placed an order on 2/10. By 3/1, I wondered where it was. Between placing my order and 3/1, we had moved next door. I called in an Park Seed told me that my order had been returned to them as undeliverable due to an incorrect mailing address. Fine. I get that. That is on me and USPS. But Park Seed had NEVER notified me that my order had been returned to them. They had NO POLICY to notify me that my order had been returned. AND they were still charging my credit card for the full amount of the order even though I was never going to receive it! However, since I did call in, they were willing to credit my card for 80% of the charges while retaining a 20% restocking fee. AND I would have to pay for the entire order again plus shipping and minus the original discounts that I had used on my original order. Will NEVER buy from them again because this whole thing was poorly handled and they intended to keep my money knowing that my order had been returned.
