It's the product! I was leery as to how there could be a material that could keep my dogs cool. When I took it out of the pkg, it was cool to the touch...amazingly so. My dogs (who have long thick hair) didn't not really gravitate to the mats, but my cats-i can't keep them off. And, being menopausal...I slept with one on my pillow!
I had purchased an extra bed cover in case one of my dog’s decided to dig a massive hole in the first bed. He never did, so I contacted Pelsbarn. They were amazing to work with. I was contacted very quickly and was helped getting the right size insert. My Anatolian shepherd mix, who has a heavy coat, loves the cooling bed. She liked it so much, I had to order more for her. She is a very happy girl!
I will wait for my product if need be and you guy did a great job I got my cooling mats and calm blankets and my pets love them. God bless you for loving God animal we need more people like this. Great customer service! Local delivery lost my order. I contacted Pelsbarn and they immediately resolved the issue and I received my order quickly after Pelsbarn stepped in to help. I bought 3 of the cooling blankets for my husky. He absolutely loves them!
Order took 3 weeks to arrive. Tracking number was the companies internal tracking number, and went back and forth on status. The item shipped from overseas, was tightly bound in a thin layer of plastic that had to be cut open carefully in order not to cut the bed. There was a very strong chemical smell and my dog wanted nothing to do with it. For the price I paid, the quality was awful; the fabric is like a shiny knit polyester, there is no support or padding so I can’t put this flat on the floor for my 7 year old dog, and the additional item I ordered was missing. There is a zipper but it’s only for removing the padding for the raised area, there is no filling in the rest of the bed. If my dog ever decides to try it I can see if it stays cool but right now I’m doubtful as it has been next to me for about 20 mins and is no longer cool in that area. Very expensive mistake; I can only hope that the donations to animals rescues is true.
I had my doubts but ordered anyway as I have 1 dog with thyroid issues so she's always panting. I put one down on one of the dog beds and both shelters and my.other dogs started sleeping there instead of my bed! Then when I put the other one down on the other doggy bed and put the first in the wash, they abandoned their first bed.and moved ro the 2nd! So i got my bed back and they're happy!!
I bought the XL tan color cooling car seat bed. The quality is fine.The edge of the bed looks like it would be a good pillow/support structure to help protect dogs in case of a fast stop, and to provide some soothing to dogs to be able to lean up against in a normal driving or resting situation. However, the whole bed and the border/ pillow/ “arm rest” piece of bed are very thin. It’s nice looking but doesn’t serve any purpose or functionality.
Because I was very satisfied with a car seat for my terrier, and hot weather had arrived, I ordered the cooling pad for her to use in the house. She doesn't hesitate, but goes to it on warm or sultry days or when she's been very active. I count on quality because it is a Pelsbarn product.
