When they received the phone I sent in, they emailed me within a few hours to let me know that there was a lock on the phone that needed to be removed. The advisor I spoke with on the phone was really polite and very helpful in guiding me through how to do this. I'm not the greatest with technology but he broke it down into easy to follow steps. After we had removed the lock, I received another email later that day to let me know that they would be paying me in the evening. Fantastic experience and I highly recommend them to anyone!
I initially gave this company a 2 star rating due to the experience I previously had. After having a conversation with an operations manager in phonebox on the 4th Nov. He expressed concern for the breakdown in the process after looking at my case. I have changed my rating to reflect the actions of this individual whom I dealt with in the company. I have left my initial review. ——————————This was the first time I have used a phone selling service like this so I really did not have any experience or other 3rd party companies to compare this process to. From the initial process of an over inflated price offered online by phonebox for my used phone, which was verified in showroom boxed condition, to the delayed payment and subsequent revaluation of my phone based upon faults which apparently only come to light when a professional technical phone diagnostic is performed, along with these apparent blemishes are reported on a phone which were pointed out to me on a phone which was in used as a desk ornament. The revised offer made would have been less than the online offer for my phone in poor condition. When this was rejected and I asked for my phone to be returned this was not done. I ended up in a series of conversations of Phonebox renegotiating the price instead of following their so called guidelines. This really feels like a legal scam. I would not recommend dealing with them however polite they appear to come across.
Very pleased with the service provided from PhoneBox, highly recommend! I received the amount that I was quoted for my phone which was higher than any other provider. I had expected them to try and lower the quote once the phone was received so was very happy that this never happened. I sent it late on the Thursday afternoon, my phone was received on Monday morning and the money was in my bank account by the evening. Will be using again!
Updated - satisfactory resolution. I am pleased to report that a manager (Shez) contacted me to resolve the situation. They offered to honour the quoted original price (£277) and 'take a loss' in order to avoid having an unsatisfied customer. The communication with Shez was good and I now have the full amount in my account. I was however asked to change my review to 5-stars, something I can't morally do. However, I did reaceive a 5-star resolution. Thank you. Original post (1 star) I choose Phonebox after reading the reviews on Trust Pilot and wish I didn't!Quoted £277 for a good condition iPhone 13. Could have sold on Marketplace for over £300, but I noted it said it was 'quick and easy'.Received an offer of £120 today due to the 'condition'. The phone is two years old, has always had a case and screen protector and is in perfect working condition. It has minor blemishes but is definitely a phone in 'good' condition. However, apparently, it's in 'poor' condition.Someone has been in touch with numerous increased offers but I know a bad egg when I see one, so have just asked for my phone to be returned - I've been told it will cost £10 to return it to me.Absolute joke of a company. Steer clear.
