Latchmere leisure centre family fun

I use the Latchmere leisure centre for its pool with my toddler. I wouldn't describe the building or it's facilities as incredible but for the price we pay per session (around 7 pounds) I think it's brilliant value for money. Clean enough, staff are very friendly and the pool while often a bit crowded has a couple of bits for toddlers and always has at least 2 lifeguards. Only a 4 star as the wave machine has been broken for over half a year now.

I use Harborne Pool that is operated and managed by Places Leisure. The maintenance of the building is increasingly badly carried out to the real detriment of user experience. The entry gate is broken, lockers are broken, the pool clock is broken, the cubicles are dirty and now new lighting shines directly into swimmers eyes. I am trying to get to HQ to understand what the policy and practice of the company is, the website appears to deny any way of raising an issue.

Absolutely horrific experience with…

Absolutely horrific experience with their swimming lessons in the Malden centre. Inexperienced and young teachers which change constantly. Therefore, they would not know or focus on the progress of your child. They ran the process robotically and rigidly and would not genuinely care about teaching your child to learn how to swim.

Trying to organise swimming lessons

Trying to organise swimming lessons, the whole process has been horrific! Those in charge aren’t available, you’re given one piece of info and that then changes, within the same day. We were told three different pricing options, having given our requirements, with an urgency to start and they had us over a barrel to then continue to use their services. The poor front of house staff are left to deal with unhappy customers, while management hides behind an email address - who knows when that will be answered, from experience I’mNot holding my breathe! If you want value for money and a seamless experience, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Requested a refund 3 months ago

Requested a refund 3 months ago - still haven't received it. They brought in new policies that pushed us out the gym, and I've just called up now and been told it can take a *further* 21 days...

Non existent customer service

Booked and paid for swim session at Tooting Lido, only to find out the Lido was closed for maintenance on the day booked. Unable to contact anyone or get any response re: refund. Shocking shocking customer service - no one accountable, no main contact, pushed from pillar to post.

No lanes in the pool

I Go to older persons swim in Camberley. They allow women to stand in the middle of the pool chatting and getting everybody’s way as the pool is crowded. Please move them to the end of the pool or to the café!

Mixed opinions

I have a swimming membership at Tewkesbury, fair price but I feel that the swimming activities offered are inflexible. There are lane swims, aqua fitness, family swims and older person swims but there doesn't appear to be just a simple swim in the pool offered. I am also currently experiencing issues of false no show charges despite the fact I did show up and checked in on the QR code scanner. Appears to be a glitchy, buggy system.

Poor start

They have recently took over from Active Northumberland, the app is not fit for purpose, got to log in from scratch every time, email and password, can’t book a gym session, just turn up. So you have no idea how busy it will be until you get there. Not happy, I’ve cancelled my direct debit.

Customer Service is well and truly dead

Their app and website allows me to book 'Staff Training' but not a Gym Session. The automated booking portal is never switched on and I've e-mailed them (because their website takes you around in circles, logs you out randomly and then gets you stuck on certain pages from which there is no escape) but after 7 days I haven't had a reply. They only had 3 rowing machines in the gym and now one of them has been removed. Nobody knows anything like where it went, when it will be back, why I can't book a gym session online, why all the walls look like they've been attacked by a Chupacabra (I understand they're going through a branding change but it looks like one of those abandoned hospitals you see on Most Haunted). This is for Prudhoe Waterworld by the way, not that the overwhelmingly bad reviews on here for the entire group makes that relevant.Awful.
