Review Time
EDIT: I didn't initially realise this review is just for Places Leisure. I am reviewing Steyning Leisure Centre, prompted by them.I wanted to get back into swimming recently, and quickly warmed to Steyning Leisure Centre for this. The indoor pool is well-lit, comfortably warm as pools go, and has a good varied timetable -- I mostly want to do lengths, but there are Aquafit classes and family sessions. The changing area is kept to good standard of cleanliness, and showers are decent. One-off prices seem decent in the area, I find the membership good value for me, there are group and 1-to-1 lessons available, and you can use SWIMTAG for free to track swims. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. I happily come here three times a week and would recommend it!
The showers at the sparkhill facility have been without hot water for over 3 weeks. Not great in the winter and with swimming and sauna still on, too many womens and school kids slots given out for pool and sauna anyway but that aside you have to wash off in a freeezing cold shower once you do finally manage to book a slot to use the pool/sauna or post gym !
The centre is well equipped and has helpful and excellent instructors but some classes are VERY difficult to get into . The booking system is a lottery for popular classes . Reception staff are friendly and welcoming . Swimming pool changing rooms are very cold .
