The equipment is modern and generally available. The environment in the gym is good and friendly as are the staff. There is a shortage of lockers in the male changing room. I have noted that there seems to be a fairly significant number of adolescents in the gym who lack the wristbands indicating that they are members. The problem for me is that they hog the machines, sometimes using them as seating for extended periods while they surf on social media.
Ever since the change over the centre has gone down hill - the changing rooms are filthy, sanitary bins over flowing, the toilets and sinks looking like they don't get wiped over at allThe side where the hair dryers are is normally covered in foundation, hair and the mirror has smears all over it Regarding the gym although the machines are fairly new they always seems to be out of order for ages and I've always noticed the centre looks at its worst on a Monday, treadmills look dirty with mud and bits all on the floor around themEvery now and again the gym smells which is understandable considering people working out but it's so small some fresh air would be appreciated
Romsey are not making any effort to resolve the issue of having two extremely popular and oversubscribed classes timetabled at the same time.It Zumba Gold instructor is on holiday then class is cancelled. Why not use some of your £215 million of profit to train a staff member then classes could be held at Romsey, Eastleigh and other nearby centres.
Today was another example of the poor maintenance and feel of the place. The staff are lovely and my trainer is professional. However the parking touch screens both broken again - when I got to the gym there was a locker door hanging off.Staff walked by this as if that was ok. The straps I tried to use were tangled - - the locker keys are not disabled friendly, I have to wait ages for others to come off machines, The sauna room and steam room hasn’t been working for ages and the time before that there was no hot water. People take videos of themselves which I don’t want to be caught in - and there is usually not enough staff supervising in the gym. With everything breaking - they are still taking my DD - so I’m paying for something they don’t provide … it’s poor and there is no real thought given to disabled users.
