It's wonderful to find a company that aligns with nature and aims to keep us warm and healthy outdoors! I appreciate their focus on using recycled materials and reducing environmental impact. I feel warm and stylish while living my values with their logo.
After just four weeks, during which it was kept in my wardrobe and only worn to restaurants, I discovered a rip in the coat arm. For £450, I expected better quality, especially since it hasn't even been used for its intended purpose. The company refused to assist with the warranty, which is frustrating given that I know I didn’t cause the rip. I've opted for repairs, but it's not about the cost; it's about the disappointing quality from such a reputable brand.
I paid £33 for the wash service of a down jacket and requested new logos due to peeling. While they replaced them with a different color, the new logos were not properly attached and came off right out of the packaging. I have not heard back from customer service, and I plan to contact my card company for a chargeback.
Bought at RAB jacket, Cirrus Flex 2. Initial thoughts were it was decent, then after a period of time, just outside of warranty the stitching started to come apart on the sleeves & the RAB branding on the front started to peel of, initially showing AB then the B then totally fell off. Wonder if thats by design so folk can't identify the make of the jacket when the stitching is coming apart. Would I buy another, not after this experience no.
Sadly, my experience with the RAB customer service department has been very poor! My Rab waterproof, which is within the warranty period, was leaking through the back taped seam when I used it in heavy rain. I have only used it about 6 times. The customer service department's first response was to tell me to reproof it despite, me telling them it had had minimal use. After 9 days of e mails, they eventually asked me when I had bought it and confirmed it was within the warranty period and the best option would be to send it back so they could test it - letting me know the process took about 3 weeks before they would be able to tell me the outcome. My experience has been very frustrating, unsatisfactory and I felt I wasn't being listened to. I eventually gave up and took the waterproof back to a Cotswold Outdoors branch where I had purchased it - the staff member was great, explaining about the warranty and the process - I am waiting to hear the outcome! This experience with the Rab customer service has certainly made me think twice about buying more RAB items - a real shame!!!
I sent away a 10 year old event waterproof jacket to the repair service to replace 2 zips. I got an email reply that stated that to repair the jacket may cause extra damage due to the age of the jacket but offered a full refund of the repair fee, recycle the jacket and they gave me a goodwill discount off a new jacket from their website. I've just ordered a new Rab jacket and am looking forward to it's arrival. Well done Rab.
Bought a Rab Downpour jacket not so long ago, and the first thing that happened when i tried it on was one of the tightening straps ripped off with very little force. Since then i have had the zipper break, big problems with the waterproofing, and gotten a hole in the fabric from a simple scratch from a tree branch. I expected better quality from you guys since your sleeping bags are great, but this was a huge huge disappointment and has made me question staying loyal to the company at all. I have bought more Rab products than i can count on my fingers so this was truly disappointing. I expected better.
Just had my microlight jacket returned from the Rab repair centre and had to comment. I have had this jacket for approximately 8 to 9 years and it has served me well but was a bit worn out! The return to Rab was easy & well organised. I had the main zip, a pocket zip & a wash carried out. The jacket was returned really quickly with the requested works carried out & with both pockets inner linings repaired too! A huge thank you to Tina for carrying out the repairs to a superb standard. All in all it has saved me buying a replacement jacket & being able to keep my old faithful. It isn't cheap but you pay for quality & a lot cheaper than buying a new jacket! I am not affiliated to Rab or anyone else, just a very satisfied customer.
I recently had my Rab insulated jacket cleaned and treated by their service center. It is approx 8yrs old and has been well used. The jacket was returned quickly and beautifully clean, unfortunately it did let in rain across the hood/shoulder line. I contacted the company and their response has been what you might hope for but rarely get. A refund and apology, and an option to return the item for a fully funded rewash and treatment.I shall,in good grace, only accept one option but what a great after care. Thank you very much Rab
