Review Time
The staff at Micklegate news were fantastic and friendly. My only annoyance with the app was I was sent a message to ask to pay a difference as were not checked out properly when picking our luggage up despite arriving in the correct time frame I booked. The gentleman in the shop assured us it was ok and told us not to worry and I should not be charged anymore as it is a set rate for the day?
Arriving in Canberra, Australia by coach at 11.30am, I needed storage for my 2 luggage bags until my afternoon flight. On Radical Storage app I looked at several locations near the Australian Botanical Gardens, Canberra. I also looked at the reviews for the closest locations. I booked a location that had a good review @ $21.30 for 2 bags, received a confirmation from RS witht the details and QR code for check in. I hired a taxi that took me to the street number. Shop doesn't exist. On googling the shop name it said 'permanently closed'. A nearby shop staff confirmed it had closed down.On my phone, I tried to contact Help on the app but this didn't work. There is no phone number. It was a very stressful and frustating situation.I wasn't able to drop my bags and had a taxi fee of close to AU$43.00.I contacted RS by email, the only other option, with full details as to trying to phone the shop, getting a not in service message, looking for the shop etc Screenshots of both storage and taxi bills were attached. I asked that the storage fee be refunded and I be compensated for the taxi fare. 4 hours later, at some time during my flight, I received an email asking me to take a screen shot of the shop, asking did I try to call the shop phone number, and would I like to use a different storage location? Seriously? Do the customer service people actually read? Back in Melbourne, I replied to their email message explaining the situation again and requesting compensation.I received a generic apology for my inconvenience saying the storage fee would be refunded, but no compensation for the taxi fare was possible.Using this company for the first time, my experience was terrible and costly. As you only get the drop off location, storageage business name and contact after you've booked and paid for the service on the app, it's impossible to know if the location still exists. Beware *** I suggest to everyone, be very wary with this service.
It was very easy to leave the luggage, it was save et taking them back was also easy.We have been a bit surprised in the beginning because it is not a luggage store but a souvenir shop, where you leave the baggage. But again a real friendly and easy experience.
