I have provided a certificate that confirms I have a lung infection. This certificate is enough for my employer to provide sick leave. However, now they want me to hassle my doctor about a written letter on why I cannot participate in a half marathon with said lung infection. So ridiculous, and they do not even provide forms I can give to my doctor, like a real insurance does.
Genuinely a horrific company whose staff lack even the most basic of customer service skills. Denied a refund for an event based on medical conditions despite paying extra for refund protection. EDIT - I have finally been awarded a refund, but only after pointing out the fact that refundable were in breach of several UK consumer rights laws. Very disappointing service.
The T&Cs are so restrictive that it'd be pretty much impossible to get a refund through a late injury. I signed up to an event but hurt my achilles 4 days beforehand and won't be able to run. The website says I have to be medically diagnosed with an illness or injury to get a refund. Given that it takes me a week to get a GP appointment I won't be able to get there in time. Also, be warned that when they provide you with a list of reasons to claim a refund, the lists includes many options that actively prevent you from getting a refund if you tick them. Save your money, don't bother.
Absolutely dreadful company don't waste your money buying insurance from them. I uploaded medical notes from my doctor saying I was unable to attend an event, less than 14 days after the event. All they kept saying was that as it was 60 days after the event was booked (not attended) I couldn't claim my money back. Couldn't get details of their allege customer service would not provide details of complaints procedure. Shameful company
At first, this felt like a scam. I paid for cover for the Torbay Half Marathon but fell ill on the day. They refused to refund me, hiding behind terms that require you to see a doctor before the event—something that’s impossible if you’re taken ill last minute. After reading other reviews, it’s clear I’m not the only one who feels this way. Many others have had the same experience. I eventually managed to get a refund, but only by being very persistent. I strongly suggest the company revisits its terms and makes them fairer for consumers.
Horrible experience so far. I am trying to cancel my booking for a trip to a place where weather conditions will be definitely adverse according to official Government reports (by MeteoFrance).Even though I uploaded the right screenshot showing the worrying weather conditions of the region and the orange alert, it was refused saying that "it was not official" but some friends of mine sent the same document and it was accepted (at their first try!).Update of 21/09: they keep pretending that Meteo France is not the official governmental service for weather in France, for me this is crazy!Booking number: C47E1376922O153704Awful customer service.
My friend and I can't attend a concert for mental health reasons. They asked for a medical note. We provided a long and detailed one containing highly sensitive information which felt like an invasion of our privacy. They rejected this, so we sent them another. They rejected that, so we sent them yet more information. There is so much back and forth with them. It's as if they are deliberately trying to get you tired of the process so you'll give up trying. We have been back and forth to our doctors to get a refund and they still won't. We are already suffering significant stress and mental health issues which this company are making ten times worse. If they do not refund us promptly I will take this matter as far as I can. I will NOT give up until we have received a full refund, even if it means taking legal action. If I could give 0 stars, I would. They are an AWFUL company who WON'T refund you. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!!
I specifically bought the Refundable option on a triathlon because of an old injury - but the company then cited fabricated reasons (“you weren’t cleared for marathons”) in order to refuse payment. Correspondence is cut and pasted from stock sentences, or auto-generated.
Wego's insurance is a total scam. I can't believe this is legal. They tell you 100% refund, but after I find out there was no chance of a refund. If there is no chance, why sell me the insurance? I will report this everywhere to save others. DONT USE WEGO.
