Review Time
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY; THEY ARE FRAUDS. This company was provided to me through a Trivago booking. They claimed their policy included pre-existing conditions. I filed my claim with all the required supporting documentation two months ago. Each time I get a denial, it is for a different reason. And then when I refute the reason, they say you're right and provide another reason for denial. This is clearly a fraudulent company hoping that their delaying tactics will force customers to give up on seeking a refund. My trip reimbursement is not expensive, less than $200. I have spent hours trying to get this refund. This business should be closed.
Both super.com and these guys are literally scam artists preying on people that make mistakes. I accidentally clicked the wrong date for a hotel room and immediately tried to cancel to re-book, they canceled the stay and took my money, so now I can't book the hotel again. Even though it's part of their terms of service it really should be case by case, there was like 20 minutes between me booking and realising it was the wrong day.
I am getting the run around, trying to get a refund. Due to a death in my family. And they are asking for a Death Cert. And proof of relationship. These guys are a disgusting joke.
When I needed to cancel a Hilton hotel reservation, they sent me a form to fill out with specific questions, all of which I answered. The next day I received an email asking for some of the same and then even more information. My daughter was sick and we couldn't travel, but they would not accept her pediatrician's official letter written on official letterhead. They kept asking more and more questions, which my child's doctor let me know crossed into breaking HIPAA privacy laws. Total scam. This company is paid to protect the companies who pay them by denying refunds to customers.
UPDATE: In response to Refundable.me’s response below, I will add that illness was included in one of the terms and conditions allowing for a refund. We provided them with an official letter from my daughter‘s pediatrician, specifically saying that she could not travel due to illness. This was still not good enough for them for some obscure and made up reason. Their cookie-cutter reply below is obviously just for show, so others reading it will believe that I am asking for a refund for some reason that falls outside of their requirements, which it does not. Also, the email reply that I received was signed from “Sarah,” no phone number, no customer service number, nothing any company that doesn’t have that sort of information, especially once you get to an actual person, is clearly hiding behind a general email because they know they are a morally corrupt company.
My son signed up for a marathon but had to withdraw due to a medical condition. He reached out to the company for assistance, and despite his current difficulty in walking due to a newly diagnosed chronic issue, he was informed that a refund was not possible and advised to wait until closer to the event. It's not worth spending extra on the policy! We are now consulting with a support organization to seek a resolution for my son's refund.
My father has been hospitalized and in the ICU. I submitted the hospital admission documents along with pictures of him unconscious, even though I was not required to provide those. I thought this would be enough to validate my request for a refund. However, they demanded more documentation. I had to cancel my leisure trip, losing money on accommodation bookings, while these online travel agencies seem only interested in making profits without supporting passengers. I paid extra for peace of mind, not expecting to have to cancel my trip for such a serious reason, but I found no peace at all. I urgently need to cancel my tickets instead of waiting for a later departure.
I am extremely frustrated with how my refund was processed and ultimately denied. I went through numerous steps to provide what was needed, only to be told it wasn't sufficient. Living in Portugal, the healthcare system is likely less organized compared to other European countries, and some of the requests were unrealistic. Not only do I feel wronged since we paid for refund protection (and this was a legitimate injury that ruined my wife's birthday trip), but I also found it nearly impossible to reach someone for assistance.
Requested a refund MONTHS ago, including a doctor's certificate. No response received. I applied again but still got no reply. Just emailed them 10 minutes ago, mentioning I might reach out to the Ombudsman. They responded within 5 minutes, asking for additional information. I'll wait to see how this turns out.
This is a total scam. It was marketed as Refund Protection on the website for "unforeseen circumstances". However, there is a strict set of conditions to actually obtain any refund, which are entirely unreasonable compared to the way it is presented. Stay away; it's a total waste of money. I now have to deal directly with the airline for a refund or reschedule, incurring a hefty fee that I thought I could avoid with this so-called "refund protection". A scam through and through.
