I booked through Carla, quoted £150 for a rental in Brindisi. When I arrived, the supplier told me I owed €295. I called Carla, but they couldn’t resolve it and said a supervisor would need to call back.Stranded at the airport with my one-year-old, I had no choice but to pay the €295 directly to Europcar.The result:I lost the £98.39 I had already paid Carla.Carla provided no service.I had to pay again, at a higher rate, just to get a car.Carla have since refused to refund me and instead offered “Carla Cash” — store credit that I neither want nor asked for. This is not a refund.A complete lack of ownership, transparency, or accountability. I strongly advise avoiding Carla and booking directly with a reputable provider.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Made a car rental booking for JFK airport, paid for the rental, and received no follow up email or text message confirmation. On the day of the rental (1 week later) I had still received no information, couldn't get through to the company via the phone number provided, and through the app I downloaded also no information was given regarded the rental car company I should go to or where I could pick up the car. Ended up having to book a car directly through a rental company. Carla's customer service was unhelpful and said I would not be issued a refund. This is not a good service. Go directly to rental car companies.
DO NOT USE, as close to a scam company as you can getWe booked a car through them for Edinburgh airport, when we arrived, the systems were down and we were informed no car was available. I requested a refund as we were forced to book elsewhere. They are simply refusing to refund the payment.Please do not use this company no matter how cheap they may appear to be.
Terrible service. To begin with, I was debited $50 that did not come off the total of the car rental price. When I picked my rental up, I was charged full price again and told to deal with carla car. I contacted carla car who asked for evidence, I provided this and then they never responded again. I have tried to call and email with out a response. Then tried to message in the message us contact but it does not work. PUTRID OF A SERVICE! DO NOT EVER USE!!!
I’m writing this to share my extremely disappointing experience with Carla Car Rental and to warn other customers.I rented a car through Icarla (Carla app) and also purchased their full protection plan to make sure I wouldn’t be charged in case of an accident. Despite this, I was later charged €428.81 by their local partner Carwizz for a rear bumper damage that occurred while the car was parked and hit by another vehicle.I provided the official damage report, which clearly states that this was a parking accident with a broken bumper, not a simple scratch. However, Carla’s customer service repeatedly ignored the report and kept sending template responses, claiming that “scratches are not covered.”This is completely unfair and misleading. I paid for full protection, not for meaningless excuses. As “compensation,” they offered me $80 Carla Cash, which is an insulting amount compared to what I actually paid and the coverage I was promised.I have already contacted my bank for a dispute and will be reaching out to consumer protection authorities both in Turkey and the EU.I strongly advise other customers to be cautious before trusting this company — their so-called “protection plan” does not protect you at all.
I rented a car from Carla at Lyon Airport and everything worked out well. The website was easy to use, the prices were clear, and I got my confirmation quickly. The process for picking up and returning the car was simple, and the staff were very helpful. I would definitely use their service again for my next trip.
I made a last minute car reservation at an airport in Italy, just to find out that Carla’s insurance is not accepted. Canceled it within minutes, but Carla kept the money. Went back and forth with the credit card company and still couldn’t dispute the charges.Carla’s customer service doesn’t answer the phone calls.
Worst experience that I’ve ever had from any car hire company. Arrived to Ibiza airport, told to wait in the car park for a shuttle to arrive which never came. Called rentcarla up and they said there was nothing they could do and would refund the order. Left stranded in Ibiza airport at midnight without a car and an expensive taxi to my hotel - €50 I’ll never see again!
The worst rental car company. I supposed to have rented a car for 190 euros with extra protection. Finally when I arrived in Paris with my family I realised that the car had no protection and I finally paid about 500 euros. When I expressed my complaint to Carla , they wrote to me that they will find a solution with the Hertz, but at the end , I didn’t refund. So stay far away from them , they aren’t reliable.
