Atrocious company who do not care once…

Atrocious company who do not care once they have your money! I booked a skoda SUV through them at a cost of £179 for 5 days with all the optional extras from Bucharest airport. They then passed my booking onto NU car rentals who are robbing cowboys. Who forced me to pay £280 extra for insurance as they said i only had the basic insurance despite what my booking said. Absolutely no support from Carla as we could not speak to anyone and on our return they have been no help. Be warned!

Con artist and fraud

Hello, if i would i give minus 10 i seriously would. 2 weeks prior I booked toyota land cruiser in morrocco. Last day befor my pick up time i received call telling me they dont have land cruiser or similar and offer me Dacia lodgy. Funny thing is i kept calling carla and emailing them but they reply days later. One email i received where it tells me to cancel policy and ill get money back but when i did, they didnt give money back and blaming me that i cancelled withing 48 hrs so i wont get it, they couldn't suplly car which i booked. I booked premium 4x4 suv abd they were tellind me to take dacia lodgy. Customer service is the rudest i ever talked to and now dont reply my calls or emails. Guys this people are fraud and con artist advertise high end cars and then give you cheap cars for the high prices.

SCAM

SCAM! Avoid! The company is dodgy, we hired a car, no one picked us up, eventually we got there and waited 3 hours outside in the cold on a broken bench that ripped my trousers. When they asked for 2 deposits both 4 times the worth of the rental we decided to leave as it was clearly a scam. Carla would not refund my money. Avoid avoid avoid

Insurance Scam

There was very little detail offered with the booking, it was not made clear that the extra instance wasn’t with the hire company but a self standing policy.I was asked to pay €32 a day for the Eurocar cover at the desk, or take the risk of having a €2400 excess and claiming back through Carla. I took the risk, having used stand alone policies in the past and having made a claim in the past.On returning the car there was a chunk out of one of the tyres, obviously not from an accident but just normal driving. When I went to claim, I was informed that they would not consider the claim without a separate police accident report. Obviously there was no such report. In effect I had no additional insurance and could have ended up having to pay €2400.They are basically a scam, I will be taking this to the insurance ombudsman.

Thank you for choosing our car rental service.Best regards,SeanSo this is a email i received back from Carla rental car for a rental they charged me $505.00 for that i never picked up in which i cancelled with a second party because there's no way to call and contact them directly. Everything is threw email and even if you do email them you won't get a response until the next day or 2. But long story short, it was my first and last time using them and yet they are deciding to not refund me my money they are stealing, nor give me some kind if voucher credit for the 500$ they are stealing for a car i never picked up. So if anyone is reading this review please listen to the others who tried to warn me before you go down this rabbit whole of scammers. And to add a taste to there shit show, they have the nerve to try and credit me 20 freaking dollars of my own stolen money. I can tell you now that i won't be paying the $505.00, but i will be filing a report to the BBB exposing these crooks. So freaking tired of companies like this trying to rob hard working citizens 😤. So if anyone is thinking about using this company!!! DON'T!.

Avoid. Will be charged for services you don’t need

Avoid.I needed to last minute book a car rental (whilst stood at a rental counter).I had a witness, that I entered the correct dates into the website, however upon being transferred to another window to finalised details, the date was changed and I was charged for incorrect dates. I immediately tried to ‘manage booking’ and the website would not let me. I then had to cancel and lose £40 (cancellation fee).I then went to make another booking using the app this time to prevent the date issue.Without seeing, Carla pre-ticks all boxes for superfluous ‘items’. The hire jumped up in price by £50+In my haste to sort the booking (running late for a wedding by this point), I paid without seeing all the add ons, until it was the receipt page. Carla refuse to refund all the add-ons they placed on my booking. I’m out of pocket £90+.Avoid, so you don’t get services charged that you didn’t ask for. When contacting customers services, basically told to jog on.

Sent us to Sardinia for a booking in Sicily

We booked a car for a few days in Palermo, Sicily. The booking process was simple but very light on details. For collection of the vehicle at the airport it simply said "contact the local provider." Who the hell was that? So I messaged and asked an asked a few questions and asked for a contact. I received an AI response paraphrasing my question, giving no useful info but did give me a phone number. I sent a message.The next day we rock on up at the airport and try to follow the instructions. I am told to phone the number provided and get a shuttle, but the lady at the office says no, walk to our kiosk and gives directions. We walk all over the rental yards but no, no vendor. More phone calls ensue. There were 15 in all taking up 2 hours. After hours of calls and much frustration - even the local airport police got on the call twice - the vendor agrees to pick us up at the arrivals gate. More time goes by and more calls until we finally all realize that Carla has given us the contact for a vendor in Cagliari, Sardinia, not Palermo, Sicily. How embarrassing! The Cagliari people are blameless and did an excellent job trying to help us out... But they're 470 kilometers away!!!!Having completely F-d up the booking and offering nothing but an Ai response, we booked with another vendor. That was 3 hours of our life wasted.So, when we got mobile access again I see a message from Carla saying "have you collected your car - yes / no". I respond no and try and report the issue. As soon as I say "cancel" the automated page tells me they have no record of my booking, name or email. I have their emails!I finally manage to report the issue to the useless AI which tells me how sorry they are and it sounds like the supplier is at fault. NO - YOU ARE AT FAULT. Ill be disputing the charges. This company is a complete fraud and scam BOT. Maybe you get a car, maybe you don't. Don't believe the 4.5 star Google play store rating. Its bs.

DON'T use them, if you must ensure tick boxes are blank

DON'T, just don't use them.I have lost so much money due to this company. First time booking, a date adjustment meant I lost a booking fee £30+. When trying again, the company pre-populated the superfluous add-ons and I lost £60 from them sneaking these in during booking. They added a monthly £19 subscription, that they just didn't cancel, and in the end I sent a harsh email, as £60+ was taken from my account. Even when I tried to block the transactions, they wouldn't stop.

Terrible experience with Carla Car…

Terrible experience with Carla Car Rental – Avoid at all costs!We had booked a car through Carla at Florence Airport for pickup at 23:00. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed, and by the time we arrived, we discovered that the Europcar desk (Carla’s local partner) had already closed at 22:00 – an hour before our scheduled pickup time.There was no warning during the booking process that the location would be closed at our pickup time. We were left stranded at the airport in the middle of the night and had to take an expensive taxi to our accommodation.The next morning, I called Carla to explain the situation, assuming they would help resolve it. To my shock, they blamed me for not informing them about the delay and offered no support whatsoever. When I went to collect the car the next day, they told me I could only get a vehicle if I made a new booking – for €900!Absolutely disgraceful customer service and zero flexibility or accountability. I would never book through Carla again and strongly advise others to stay away.
