NEVER USE CARLA RENTAL! They’re happy to take your money and not provide a service. We were referred to Goldcar and told not to purchase any additional insurance as we had already purchased this through Carla.When we arrived at Goldcar we waited almost 2 hours to speak with a team member who told us they don’t have our car and in order to hire a car without buying additional insurance they needed a $7,000 deposit. If you read seven thousand dollars, you read correctly.We proceeded to not hire a car and were unable to retrieve any funds from Carla rental even though the car we secured was not available therefore no service was provided.Save yourself the trouble and only book through AVIS car hire! Carla Car Hire and Goldcar are absolute scams.
I am extremely disappointed with your recent response regarding the cancellation of my booking (Confirmation Number: CN863661944436). As I have already mentioned in previous communications, the reservation was cancelled within less than 30 minutes of being made. According to consumer protection laws and fair trading practices, such a cancellation clearly entitles me to a refund, regardless of the standard cancellation policy.I have already filed an official complaint with the Consumer Ombudsman, and if the matter is not resolved promptly, I will proceed with legal action for fraudulent and unethical business practices. Your refusal to refund a payment for a service that was never rendered, and under such circumstances, is completely unacceptable.This is my final attempt to resolve the matter amicably. I urge you to reconsider your position and issue a full refund of €238.60 immediately. Otherwise, I will escalate this case without further notice.
Carla Car rental is a absolute scam company. €320 is what I lost. Unbelievable. the only thing I can and will do is call them dailly to make them refund me. Diana who works there is a absolute liar.If you refund me, I will change this one into a 4 star review.
I reserved a car through this app from thifty. When we arrived, they said they would not have a car for 4 hours. We were number 26 on the list and it was 10:00 pm. Thifty closed at 11. I called and did not get anyone on the phone. We rented from another company. I have been trying to get my refund for days. finally, they said they couldn't offer a refund but credit. the credit was lower than the original rental. i will never reserve from here again. this was not my fault, they did not honor their contract commitment. I currently work for a law firm and will file against this company.

Yet, Carla’s own booking confirmations only stated that a driver’s license and credit card were needed. No clear or visible warning was shown during the booking or payment stages.Even the “requirement” they now refer to was only mentioned deep in the Terms & Conditions as a recommendation, not a hard legal rule — and it never appeared in any of the main documents they emailed or highlighted at checkout.💶 The result?• 3 bookings denied• Over €1,670 paid• Zero service delivered• Carla offered only $500 in “Carla Cash”, which is essentially store credit I have no use forAfter over a month of back-and-forth communication, Carla has now stated they refuse to refund or compensate beyond their credit.⚠️ Be warned:• Carla hides critical driving requirements behind fine print• They take no responsibility when their partners deny you service• Their “non-refundable” policy applies even if you receive nothing in returnAvoid Carla at all costs unless you’re willing to risk losing your money — and being stranded without a car despite a paid booking.
