Someone has used my email to set up a Shopify account and because they have used a 2 step verification code, I can't do anything about it and I can't find a way to shut it down! It's a nightmare trying to get Shopify to do anything about it! Just trying to get the email out of them is impossible! Shopify don't care about fraud! They don't care someone is using my emailI'm furious!
Somebody has opened a shop online using my email address. As they have set up 2 factor authentication I cannot access it to close it down. Shopify have point blank refused to do anything about it. There is no contact number to speak to anyone directly and navigating their website is painful. Seems like they are totally on board with identity theft. Utter joke of a company
Ordered something through Shopify but never turned up .. I tried to contact the seller but no response.. and my card has been cloned.. I suspect from this shop and it looks like Shopify promote this because no response from them either
Absolutely, it's a horrible platform! The FREE themes are barely usable! The DAWN theme looked great and simple. etc, until you begin to try and make basic changes to it, you will tear your hair out adding very basic stuff that SHOULD be available and isn't! At the point of sale, there is no mention THAT YOU WILL NEED A DEVELOPER to set this up! For example - adding Social Media Share Icons to a blog post, basic formatting, editing the shopping cart, aligning images, or any other customization to make your store work for the VERY BASICS! Everything is either an add-on or you have to know coding or get a developer to do it. The paid themes are way over-priced at anything from $300 to $450! I'm warning people off from even going anywhere near this platform. It's nothing but a con! I'm quite savvy with blogs and sites. SHOPIFY have deliberately limited functionality to FORCE customers to pay more all the time. I'm fairly upset after spending weeks doing and testing things and only getting messages from support saying: "If you can't see the function it's not in the THEME/needs coding, or its an upgrade." I mean no option to add social media share icons in a blog post. That is a feature in almost every FREE WordPress theme or other platform. Save yourself a lot of heartache and STAY AWAY from Shopify!
Shopify is allowing scammers to continue violating my copyrights, despite multiple reports. It seems they are protecting the scammers because they profit from their sales, effectively participating in the scam. Although Shopify removed two pages from the website where my digital products were being sold without my consent, the scammers have created new pages with the same content. The third page remains, and they continue profiting from my work. When I contacted customer service, they referred to ‘procedures’ but refused to share details or commit to removing the entire website. They suggested I report the issue to payment providers, Google, and ICANN, even though Shopify has the power to shut down the site and I have provided proof of the infringement. This website was created solely to sell my products without authorization. I once held Shopify in high regard, but now I see it as a profit-driven corporation with no ethical or human approach.EDIT: After escalating the issue and with the assistance of Ethan from customer service, the page I reported for violating my copyrights was removed on December 3rd (not the entire website). I will continue to monitor the site to ensure the scammer does not create new pages. However, I appreciate that at least the specific page where my products were being sold has been taken down.
I didn't know that once you have paid a retailer on- line who uses Shopify, then they keep your debit card details and can complete a transaction without you going through the neccessary ID checks. You don't need to have their app or an account. It caused me to purchase goods just by going to payment. I found it was a payment method a trusted supplier uses exclusively hence Shopify gaining my debit card details. Also you don't realise its via Shopify payment with that trusted Supplier until you get the invoice!!So I have had to get a new debit card and inform that trusted supplier that unless they give me another payment option then I won't use them again. It was important to do this, because this supplier now has a choice to ditch Shopify or add direct bank card payments or any other trusted source? So my message is, beware because Shopify shouldn't have this liberty. So in brief, regardless of who you shop with online, if they use Shopify for payments, then your details are logged with Shopify whether you like it or not.
