Review Time
After being informed that I could not get a replacement for my broken arm and would have to purchase the complete frame I spoke to customer service, within a couple of days Kotryna phoned to invite me in to pick some new frames. When I went in she was extremely helpful explaining which frame size both suited me and also worked for the variofocal lens
For the second time (once 18 months ago and now recently) my eye test has resulted in the wrong prescription and thus a retest required, clearly involving me in additional cost and time ! Whilst there is never any problem with being retested etc it is annoying nonetheless and is making me wonder whether I should continue using Specsavers, especially as I note prices have been increasing with all the ‘add ins’ that now appear !
The eye test by the optician was very thorough and professional offering advice and making recommendations I have been buying my glasses from this store for over a decade, always a pleasure, only downside I noticed a BIG price increase of around 33% in two years.
After collecting my glasses in September i had a problem with them digging in my cheeks due to me being on steroids, went back to Specsavers and they took care of me letting me choose different frames that took the glasses if my cheeks, they were very helpful and just willing to help sort the situation out. Just lovely service
My appointment was at 10:15 at the Hillsborough branch in Sheffield. I arrived at 10. I was seen promptly at 10:15 for an initial check before seeing the optometrist. At 10:20 I was escorted upstairs and asked to take a seat and told that I would be seen shortly. Well, shortly became 30 minutes and at 10:50 the optometrist called me in. She was very professional and really put me at ease and being on the autistic spectrum I really needed that. At 10:57 she gave me a card with my prescription and told me that someone would help me to choose my new glasses downstairs. I waited for 15 minutes for someone to come and help me but they never did. It was not very busy and there were lots of staff about so there really was no excuse for leaving me waiting. So, I just left. Incidentally, the previous time I was there for glasses I had a similar experience, so I guess they don't like helping customers.
