I tried to get my dryer fixed through the protection plan. Initially, they claimed I had no insurance, but after proving I did, they said maintenance isn't covered. The dryer isn't heating due to a broken component, as confirmed by the technician. He promised to order parts but three weeks later, the company said he hadn't reported anything. I later received an email saying it was a maintenance issue and not part of the plan. The dryer spins but doesn't heat.
I purchased a device protection plan through the Mint Mobile website, provided by Allstate. Less than 24 hours later, I canceled the plan after returning the phone to the retailer. Allstate emailed me confirming the cancellation and stating that a refund would be issued.However, when I followed up, I was told the refund is Mint Mobile’s responsibility—something not mentioned in the Allstate email. This contradiction caused confusion and frustration, as I relied on Allstate’s official communication. Mint is not taking responsibility. I had to navigate conflicting information instead of receiving clear guidance from the provider I trusted to handle the plan. I had to file a claim with my bank in order to hopefully receive my refund. I will never trust Allstate protection plan for coverage nor companies that are affiliated. I can't imagine having to file an actual claim with Allstate.
Frustratingly long wait for replacement vacuum. Perhaps they should offer vouchers/gift card for the company you purchased the original item from...just a thought1. Filed claim 11.09.25 or before for my SHARK Pro Pet Cordless Vacuum2. They provided list of "acceptable replacements" not the one I purchased (this was pretty quick)3. I chose a vacuum and they reached out for my phone number twice even after I provided it4. I reach out for status on 11.12, 11.18, 11.285. Finally, 11.29, they have ordered the replacement (I had already given in and purchased a new vacuum) 6. lol I have a husky Who can wait almost a month for a vacuum?
AVOID ALLSTATE'S COSTCO WARRANTIES LIKE THE MOLD GROWING IN MY FRIDGE! I bought a Kenmore refrigerator in May 2022, dutifully added Allstate's "extended protection" for mechanical/electrical failures. Three years in, legitimate defects emerge: doors that won't self-close (day 1 issue), frost choking the freezer drawer (defrost fails repeatedly), and a dripping water dispenser breeding mold. Normal wear? Manufacturing flaws? Doesn't matter – Allstate DENIED my claim faster than their agent could spam "I apologize."Their "reason"? I dared say issues "started from day 1" but clarified frost/drip took time to notice. Agent latched onto wording like a pitbull, calling it "pre-existing damage" under a policy requiring "fully functional on day 1." Newsflash: Frost doesn't magically appear in the store! It's a sealed system failure that builds. But common sense? Zero. They suggested returning to Costco after 3 YEARS – hilarious if it weren't infuriating.This "protection plan" is a profit-grab scam: Collect premiums, then hide behind fine-print loopholes to avoid payouts. Agent promised escalation to "appliance team" – bet that's code for "ignore forever." Why bother with Allstate when they'll point fingers at Kenmore/Costco while you foot repair bills?
