I moved my things into storage space in albany ga on June 26 paid my prorated Rate and then had company attempt to charge my card for double the amount of rent two weeks later I after trying to see anyone ever at the storage location unsuccessfully and after attempting to contact corporate office in Florida for literally two days and getting message saying high call volume and saying they would call back when the call back came it put me back in loop telling me high volume and giving me call back option again which I did literally for two days finally I called the sales line and got someone of course immediately and finally got transferred to actual person who initially told Me that I had not let them know I moved out which I hadn't they had the wrong unit number and representative said all corrected signed up for automatic payment and thought all was well then I get notice I owe 2 months which I hadn't even been customer that amount of time so spent yet another day trying to get thru to someone and once again only after getting transferred from agent on sales line did I reach someone and they looked said they fixed the mistake again and confirmed auto bill pay and that I should only pay for one month they apologized profusely and now on the 7th thinking bill was automatically paid as was signed up to do I just received that I have a lien against my things for non payment for over 30 days this is beyond ridiculous so I guess tomorrow I have to start the herculean process of attempting to contact their office to once again have their mistake repaired and I'm sure that it will be but I'm also sure that this will be ongoing problem the agents are nice and say they straightened out the problem but I have zero confidence that this is actually the case and thankfully I have documented this at every turn so my things had better not be in any way affected by the sloppy at best system of record keeping I can not after this many incredulous billing issues recommend this company to anyone unless you have time to constantly be on hold over and over to get to person who thus far may tell you all is well and when seemingly not the case if you do decide to use this company constantly stay on top of their fraudulent billing

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PLACE - DO NOT USE!!!! You'll be SO sorry if you do, I promise you!

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PLACE! I implore you, do NOT ever use this company. I will list the reasons:1. Pricing. When you first contact them, they give you a SUPER low price. You can't believe it and eagerly sign up. This happened to us. In 3 months of being there they raised the price by 10%. In another 3 months, another 20%. After a little over a year we were paying almost twice the price that we first started paying. And you are stuck because you don't want to move and go through the hassle of finding a new place, and THEY KNOW THIS. Very shady company and they do the old "bait and switch" with their pricing.2. The electronic gate NEVER works. Well okay, it works 2 out of 3 times. The other time you are SOL. We had to wait an hour to get someone on the phone to remedy the problem. We met many other space renters at the facility who all were infuriated and stated the same problem.3. YOU CAN NEVER GET ANYONE ON THE PHONE! And there is NEVER anyone at the facility. So again, if (I mean when) the gate doesn't open, you can't get anyone on the phone to help.4. When it's time to cancel again, you can't get anyone on the phone. They say on their website to send a notice in writing that you are vacating but I DO NOT TRUST THIS SHADY company! I am sure that the letter I sent them won't go through in the mail somehow - and they'll say I owe them money for the space that I vacated.In response to the reply they sent: are you kidding me? I was literally on hold for an hour trying to get someone on the phone to cancel my account after having moved out. So you think I want to waste another hour of my life on your awful company? Finally I got someone who said now I have to drive to the space (about a 40 minute drive - one way - from me) and take photos of the empty space and email to them. This is very difficult for me to do because of time constraints. And why should I have to do this? I’ll tell you why - it’s because they have no on site managers in Lackawanna; the closest manager is over an hour away. So their statement “striving for an exceptional storage experience” translates to i have to drive and take a picture of my empty space rather than THEY send someone from Rochester. In essence, I have to do THEIR job. Amazing. Again, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! They’ll likely double your rental price within a year like they did to us, and you will have to jump through hoops just to vacate your space so you can move to an honest company instead.

I am a current customer at the Jacksonville Saint Johns location. Do not use this company they are professional at ripping you off and raising their rate every quarter! I have also had 4 separate times where I could not access my equipment at this facility and had to go purchase these item a second time to do my job those days! Somebody was sleeping behind the desk at least 4X and I could not access my stuff! Don’t use this place they are the worst!

I am a current customer. I paid two months in April 2023. In May I began receiving emails stating they would force place insurance $16/mo on my unit if I did not provide proof of insurance. I sent proof of insurance that shows my homeowners coverage. I called to confirm receipt and spoke to a gentleman. He confirmed receipt and said I was ok and that my homeowners insurance clearly covers my items and that he would not force place insurance on my account. I logged into my account today to make June's payment to find out they forced placed insurance on my unit anyway. Despite having proof that I have homeowners insurance. I called to complain and the lady that answered the phone said she checked with her manager and that I need to submit a declaration page. I told her I already submitted the declaration page. She responds, I see that you have insurance with State Farm and that your items are covered out of state and that you are covered. But it does not say declaration page. I explained to her that that was the declaration page and to explain to me what information is she looking for on the declaration page. She could not explain but did say, I see you are covered but we need your declaration page. I told her clearly I need to speak to management and asked to do so. She placed me on hold and said her manger was too busy and could not speak to me. I told her I felt they are unethical and are charging me for services that I do not need because I already have insurance. What is a customer to do? I am being bullied into paying $16/mo for something that I am already paying for under my homeowners insurance. I tried calling their headquarters in Florida but no one answers. They just direct you back to the facility you are doing business with. There is obviously no oversight. Customer complaints will go no further than Trust Pilot.

Run as fast as you can....Not a truthful company

Not a storage for buisness or being able to access your items.Called for unit same day. Said it was available. I arrived with in 3 mins after deposit was taken.No office to go to to check in. Sign on door says closed till further notice. Called the company.. charged me the no. Refundable fee knowing facility was closed.. lied about being able to access a space. No manager.. response from store. First it was a sign about we energies then a about door coil.. no communication between Florida office and the city. They kept my $29 non refundable... no supervisor and no accessible manager. I need space immediately and they knew that taking the lease. Charged me literally for nothing. If u can afford to stay away please do! sketchy buiness....

I am another person complaining about…

I am another person complaining about not receiving my deposit back. I’ve called numerous times and left voicemails which they don’t answer. When they didn’t answer, they promised me they sent out the check, which was a total lie. Here’s the deal with Store Space – they want their rent within the first two days of each month or they block access to the building. This company also forces you to obtain insurance. What business is that of there’s if I want insurance or not on the contents of my storage unit? Steer clear of this business!

My experience was fantastic

My experience was fantastic! Walked in virtually with no heads up or warning was met with the most courteous and upbeat person who told us all and showed us what we needed to know. And once unit was picked, when she asked for the address we reside in she then told us of a closer location to where we are. She was extremely helpful and loaded with personality. I think I found my new storage home!The attendant was Kim C. At the 4822 Whipple Ave NW Canton Ohio 44718 location

A Year...and Still No Resolution to Complaints

Store Space responded to a complaint posted 3 months ago, noting the rodent issue was "limited in scope and should be resolved quickly." I am a board member for a small theater company that rents storage space from Store Space. The facility was viewed by the entire board prior to renting and there was no water intrusion and most certainly no rodents when we conducted our due diligence. Since that time, we've had multiple issues that are ongoing and remain unresolved. We've reported standing water in the two units we rent. The response was "the roof is being repaired" and then we were told, in response to another complaint, "the roof was being replaced." There was a sticky residue noted on the floor that was reported (nothing in our units would have caused this) and not cleaned up for 15 months despite multiple complaints. As a theater company, we regularly access our storage because we use the items stored for theatrical productions. A few months ago, we accessed our storage and there was a strong urine odor at the back of one unit. This was reported and, during this visit, another renter described rodent issues, including finding dead rodents in his unit. Two weeks ago, we noticed a great deal of rodent droppings in multiple places and the urine odor at the back of the one unit was even stronger. The one-site manager was there and this was reported. Last week the same things were observed and, when a board member went to open a plastic bin, there was a live rodent inside. Store Space call center was phoned; all of the issues to date again reported and a request that the district manager follow-up demanded. The district manager sent an email with a vague description of what follow-up was being done, noting ownership of the building had changed. A reply was sent to the district manager, demanding to know the specific follow-up being done and time frame. The district manager replied someone would contact us and that has yet to happen. Our organization purchased the Tenant Protection Plan and is now assessing damage done by the repeated water intrusion and rodent issue. We rented knowing the introductory rate would increase. We did not expect a 300% increase in a year. The lack of follow-up is disturbing. We've been more than patient -- it's been a year.

Steer Clear of This One!

I discovered the hard way that building "C" is below the water table when it rains (which it dose in Oregon). Water comes up thru the cracks in the floor. They charged $20 for a padlock which I didn't need and charged for insurance which is covered under my house policy. Then, the third month in they raised the rent $100.
