Shady sales practices. No customer engagement or service

I placed sales on 11/26/21 at the Atlanta location for a set which includes a loveseat, a chaise, and 3 ottomans. The ottomans were not available, and I was not allowed to take the display item. I was informed the loveseat and the chaise were to be delivered on 12/01/21 (which they were) as a ‘partial delivery’, while the ottomans were to be delivered within two months, and I would be contacted with the delivery date. Based on those stipulations, I decided to purchase all the set and paid in full on site.I didn’t hear back from The Dump for two months (except daily emails with ads) and decided to send messages online through the ‘Contact Us’ form starting on 2/01/22. After three messages and no response, I sent a message through the online text message option on 2/05/22 asking for a status of my order. I received a reply to that message on my phone stating that my order was pushed to May/June.I asked to be informed as to what options I’d have, including canceling the order and obtain a refund. The reply to that message was that I would be getting a call with instructions.I waited until today 2/10/21 to reply to that text thread informing that no one has called me yet. I got a reply and received a call back from the Atlanta location. I asked about me seeing online (ww.thedump.com) the ottoman as available in other locations and if they can ship it to the Atlanta location for delivery (which I already paid). I was told that I needed to contact their Ecommerce Support department to inquire about what other options I may have. Contacted Ecommerce pending their reply...Needless to say, all the above is becoming a very frustrating experience with The Dump. I’d like to know if/when I can get the missing parts from my order which I paid for.--------------3/21/22 UPDATE: Still waiting a resolution from this place. Numerous calls, where I've been put on hold for up to two hours just to be hung up on. I did my research and there is inventory in other locations, to which they keep telling me they are looking into this. At this point I will file a complaint with the BBB (which already has this place with a D rating), and will be looking into small claims. Never again. Hope I will get the rest of the order which I paid for, or get all of my money back as I bought the set as a 'set' (not to be left with half of it because of their negligence and lack of business ethics). Stay away from this place or be ready and ok to have many headaches (and check their reviews because mine is not an isolated case).

They Could Do So Much Better

We purchased a reclining sofa and single recliner back in November. Items were delivered separately with the single recliner arriving last. The single recliner was delivered inoperable. The delivery guys called CS, and I was promised that if I accepted the non-working recliner, they'd repair it within two weeks and bring out a replacement (which I thought was generous) by the end of the month. That was December 1. Today is February 17, and the single recliner is still inoperable. On two occasions a "tech" has come to my house, not even carrying a screwdriver. December 9 parts were claimed to be ordered. Nothing. The store and our salesman (Sylvester) have been completely hands off. CS claim to finally be coming to pick the item up and refund me next week. I have little trust that process will go well. This was all after buying a sectional from Haynes in early May and receiving excuses about delivery all the way through October. Both blame COVID... COVID didn't stop them from taking my money. Both Haynes and The Dump are terrible post purchase. I'll never do business with either again.

Buyer Beware

I am very dismayed to say the least. At the end of July, I purchased a couch from the Lombard, IL. location. The couch was delivered to me, and I thought all would be well. Around a week later, I saw feathers protruding from the cushion I was sitting on. I thought this was odd, and did a bit of research to determine why this was happening. The feathers started protruding more and more, so I went to The Dump, and they scheduled an appointment with AHM Furniture Repair, a company they work with. Upon inquiring about my appointment with AHM, they encouraged me to call The Dump to make sure they communicated with AHM to bring feathers to the appointment in order to restuff the cushions. After several texts, and a phone call to The Dump’s customer service line, I was assured the feathers would be brought to my appointment with the AHM technician. When the AHM technician arrived, he was semi-abrasive and rude, and told me there was nothing, which could be done to fix my problem, as this is commonplace with couches stuffed with feathers. (He also stated he did not have anything to restuff the cushion with). After much pleading with him, he stated he would put an order in to have The Dump replace the feathers with extra foam cushions. After the technician left, I went to The Dump in Lombard in order to talk to a manager. I was directed to Basel Hasan, General Manager. Mr. Hasan proceeded to tell me the technician stated everything looked good according to his notes, and there was nothing, which could be done. I asked again if something could be done, as I spent over $3,000.00 on this couch, and should be able to use it without feathers coming out of the cushions. After Ms. Hasan told me this, I then told him about AHM’s recommendation to install extra foam cushions. I was told by Mr. Hasan he would be available starting on Thursday, September 23rd, and to check back then with a status. However, he stated The Dump would probably not be able to order extra foam cushions for my couch, and that losing feathers is commonplace. The next week, I saw more and more feathers protruding from my cushion. Alarmed, I decided to unzip the cushion, and to my dismay, I saw multiple holes and rips in the liner from the protruding feathers. (AHM’s technician did not do a thorough inspection, and did not discover what I discovered, as it seemed he really wanted to get out of my townhome as fast as he could the day of our appointment). I decided to take pictures of the tears/holes in the liner, along with documenting the problems/issues I am having. I sent this in the form of an email to Basel Hasan, General Manager of the Lombard, IL. location, and Donald Mackenzie, Chairman, on Wednesday, September 22nd. I also sent a message via The Dump’s Facebook Page, and the same email/message, along with pictures of the damage, to The Dump’s Lombard, IL. text line. (Mr. Hasan told me to use this text line if I could not get a hold of anybody via their telephone line, as I have found it is virtually impossible to talk to someone on the phone at The Dump in Lombard, IL). I have not received any communication from Mr. Basel Hasan regarding these issues. I will never shop at The Dump again, and will encourage others I know to do the same. The level of professionalism and customer care/service is very, very subpar, to say the least. The Dump made their sale, and now wants nothing to do with me, regardless of the quality of the product they sold. It is very unfortunate this has occurred, as again, no one has reached out to me. A $3,000.00 couch I purchased at the end of July 2021 is essentially ruined, and The Dump in Lombard has no level of concern for such.

Purchased a family room leather…

Purchased a family room leather recliner set on 02/2018, less than a year later I noticed the leather was ripped at the seams. I submitted a claim on 03/2019 and went back and forth and it was not resolved until 10/2019. I went in 12/2019 to exchange because the damage was not repairable and was told they did not have a replacement leather sofa. They wanted me to pick something that was not leather and would not match the loveseat and single recliner. Who wants mismatched couches!!??? They then said, why don't you let us look around and call you if something comes in. Never heard from them, by this time, the same thing had happened to the loveseat, so I filed a claim for that. Tech came out and then never heard back about the claim. Then the pandemic happened and I did was not willing to go into a store, but did call them. We called them 01/2021 and we were told because we did not use the credit within two weeks, it was now obsolete??? Where was this information? Noone ever said to us this was their policy. It is not in any paperwork that I ever received. These people make things up. I went in yesterday 02/16/2021 and the "general manger" very rudely told us to leave, they would not honor anything and he stated there was noone else we would ever be able to speak to because he was the top person in that company. BUYER BEWARE, DO NOT BUY HERE!!!

DO NOT GO HERE! PRICE GAUGE

DO NOT GO HERE! This is my first time buying a bed set for my new house. I went here on a Sunday and had Phillip show me around. I found a queen bed set that i liked for a price of $2,999 before tax (this included the bed frame, one nightstand & a dresser without the mirror). I told Phillip that I was interested in it and i would return during the weekday to finance. I return 3 days later on a Wednesday and Saber decided to help me. I show him the bed set i like to purchase and he proceeds to tell me that the price with tax and delivery is going to be $3600+!! i was SHOCKED! i told him what Phillip quoted me and he tells me hes going to speak to the manager but the quote he gave me was correct. he proceeds to tell me "The prices at the DUMP only go UP not down.". I couldn't believe he said that..... apparently the Dump increased the price by $300 in 3 days! Saber tells me that the manager has agreed to honor the old price Phillip had quoted me. Saber then comes up with a total of $3496 with taxes and delivery charges. I ask him if they can waive the delivery charges due to the HUGE price miscommunication and he tells me no. At this point i was upset because the only reason why i came back to buy from the dump was because my parents had just purchased $4k bed set and told me they had great customer service. I told Saber i wanted to speak with the manager. The manager LYSANDER SHIH came to speak with me and had a look on his face that he did not care. I told him the whole story and how i felt taken advantage of and they weren't honest with pricing.... I ask if there was anything he could do. He tells me that corporate took away their rights to give discounts on the furniture itself and the delivery charges. I have never dealt with a manager that did not have any professionalism or care for their customers. He did not say anything else to me and his face told me that he was done talking to me. After our short convo, i went to a employee and asked for a managers card and his name. While the employee is finding a card, he asks me politely if there was anything he can do or fix whatever went wrong. I tell him that I had a horrible experience. He then asks why? At this time Saber interrupts our convo and tell his associate that I just wanted an extra discount and i didn't agree with the price. I was astonished that 1) he would interrupt and answer on behalf of a customer and 2) try to make me look like the bad guy when they didn't have their pricing together !!! bottom line..... don't go here at all! prices increase on the daily! and customer service is TRASH!

Dump the Dump...

Won’t cancel a pick up order. Won’t call or email me back. Sent an email to me saying item was ready to pick up in a state 300 miles away from where my invoice indicates, 3 days after I originally ordered.Awful customer service. Stay away. No one will ever contact you.

Update: company wants to negate my right to lodge complaint w/ BBB

I purchased a couch from The Dump. I have had it less then 1 year. There are a few issues with the couch. IE: One of the mechanism of recliner making noise & the cushions sagging. I called Customer service & reported issues. I was informed 1st available date for service is over a MONTH!!!!! By that time, I am certain issues will get progressively worse. So yes large selection of furniture @ reasonable pricing, BUT heaven forbid something goes array not very speedy in repair response time (my opinion) . I called & left message to see IF repair date can be made earlier. So far no response. Update: repair men came 11/17 & said a mechanism fir recliner issue to be sent to me as would the cushions to replace cushions having issues with. 12-2-20 Thus far I have NOT received any part for the recliner mechanism nor the replacement cushions. I called & left a message for customer service since I have NOT received items NOR have I heard from customer service as to when they possibly would arrive. Also another issue is: once items are received, then I am sure there will be once again a prolonged waiting period for the service team to come out & do the necessary repairs. Again this couch was purchased in June so even less the 6 months old. I would NEVER recommend anyone purchase from THE DUMP!!!! 1-18-21 UPDATE: repair now scheduled for 2/13/21..... NEVER purchase anything from the DUMP because of a) poor quality of furniture; b) lousy customer service. So this issue going on over 2 months now & I have boxes w/ the repair merchandise in my living room.... again what a disgrace this company is!!!!! 1-20-21 update: how unprofessional that I received a call from representative to tell me I did NOT have to lodge a complaint with BBB!!!! How arrogant/rude. a) couch was not cheap cost $1100.00; issues erupted in less then 6 months time; & now over 4 months before any repair being done!!! I still do NOT have a confirmed date of repair. DO NOT BUT @ THE DUMP!!!! Again how rude for a rep to call & tell me I did NOT have to lodge a complaint w/ BBB! So they want to negate my right to complain ridiculous! 1-28-21 saga continues NOW my repair date is yet again cancelled for 1/29.... & the company never even contacted me about cancellation I had to contact them... supposedly I will be called when appt. for repairs rescheduled BUT this is now over 4 months to try & get my couch repaired. Definitely DO NOT purchase from "The Dump!!" Ignorant; disrespectful & lacking any sort of quality customer service.

Delivery service caused damage to…

Delivery service caused damage to multiple areas of my home during delivery. Never reimbursed me for damages as manager promised verbally and in text. Delivery service never showed up or called on scheduled date. I was refunded fee. Delivery was rescheduled. When mattress was delivered I was downstairs caring for my son. Drivers caused damage to multiple areas of home. Molding was chipped and cracked, paint was scraped off ceiling, light fixture was pulled from wall, metal baby gate anchored with screws was ripped from wall and broke in half, heater was pulled from wall (was able to be reattached). The delivery drivers did not tell me of any damage and left everything in disarray. I spoke with delivery manager Rene and was told to send receipts of repairs and I would be reimbursed. After sending receipts manager did not follow up with contact. I contacted customer service at the dump in Oaks PA and spoke with Barb W. After multiple calls, emails, texts I was reimbursed approximately half of the cost of the repairs ($60). I re-contacted Barb who told me Rene was not honest about reimbursing the full amount of money and it would be looked into. That was the last time I had contact with anyone. This has been ongoing since June 2020, I have reached out about 10-15 times to try to have this resolved and Rene and Barb have not contacted me back This company is very unprofessional.

I will never ever

I will never ever, ever buy furniture from The Dump again. We purchased a reclining sofa with a repair warranty. One of the recliners broke soon after purchase. I have been trying to have my recliner fixed since 5/26/20. Current date is 8/24/20. Now, we are about to move to another town. Noone to answer their customer service phone, noone to answer their online chat. The last time I talked to someone they told me they were understaffed due to COVID and would call me when they get a tracking # for the part. I DONT CARE WHAT THE REASON IS. I want a to return this sofa and get a refund!!!! Sales Order 630OSL834.
