I deeply regret engaging with this service. My experience has been highly disaster and raises serious concerns about their corrupt business practices and customer handling standards.

After sharing my contact details, I have been subjected to repeated unsolicited communications, which may constitute spam and misuse of personal data. Despite sending multiple written requests to cease such contact, there has been no effective action taken.

This ongoing disregard for customer consent and privacy is unacceptable and potentially in violation of data protection and consumer rights standards. If this behavior continues, I will be left with no option but to escalate the matter to the appropriate regulatory authorities and pursue formal action.

Sikkim and Darjeeling tour

I had booked an eight days and seven nights tour of Sikkim and Darjeeling from 14-02-2026 to 21-02-2026 through Thomas Cook India for myself, my wife, my son, and my daughter-in-law.Mr. Ritik Mathur from Thomas Cook contacted me and provided details about the tour. I paid the advance amount and sent the ID proofs of all four of us. I had clearly informed him that my son and daughter-in-law are Canadian citizens. Two days before the start of the tour, we came to know through Google that foreign nationals are required to obtain an Inner Line Permit to enter Sikkim. When we asked Mr. Ritik Mathur about this, he said that no such permit was required. After verifying again from other sources, we found that no foreign national can enter Sikkim without an Inner Line Permit. When we contacted Mr. Mathur again, he admitted that he had forgotten to inform us about this requirement. Even then, he did not provide any satisfactory solution and kept diverting us by saying he would connect us with a specialist, while only one day was left before the journey. My son and daughter-in-law then lodged a complaint via email with the Thomas Cook complaint desk. Ms. Gautami and Ms. Sweta spoke with us and initially said that no Inner Line Permit was required for foreign nationals, and that permits were needed only for Tsomgo Lake (for both Indian and foreign nationals) and Nathula Pass (only for Indian nationals). When my son and daughter-in-law informed them that an Inner Line Permit is mandatory for entry into Sikkim, they said they would confirm and revert. After some time, Ms. Gautami and Ms. Sweta admitted that yes, foreign nationals do require an Inner Line Permit to enter Sikkim, and assured us that their staff at Bagdogra Airport would arrange the permit for us.Ms. Gautami also assured us that we could contact her in case of any difficulty. After this assurance, we felt relieved and proceeded with our journey. However, at Bagdogra Airport, the Thomas Cook representative who received us had no knowledge about the Inner Line Permit. When we contacted the local tour manager of Thomas Cook, he assigned the responsibility to the car driver, who was also unaware of the process. We went to the Sikkim Tourism office at Bagdogra Airport, but no one was present there. There was only a notice stating that the Inner Line Permit must be applied for online. The Sikkim Tourism website was very complicated and was not functioning properly. We were in great distress. No one was helping us. Neither the car driver nor the Thomas Cook staff had any information. My son and daughter-in-law tried calling Ms. Gautami multiple times, but she did not answer. Later, she blocked our number—each time we called, the phone disconnected immediately. At one point, we even considered taking a flight back from Bagdogra Airport. After prolonged confusion, the local tour manager, Mr. Abhinav Roy, advised us to proceed by car towards Gangtok and apply for the permit at the Sikkim check post en route.Later, Ms. Sweta also called and gave the same suggestion. It is extremely disappointing and regrettable that such an old and reputed travel agency employs such irresponsible staff.Eventually, we left Bagdogra Airport for Gangtok. On the way, our car broke down, and we had to wait for one and a half hours before another vehicle was arranged. At the Sikkim check post, after facing some difficulties, my son and daughter-in-law were finally granted the Inner Line Permit.Thomas Cook, which we had always considered the best travel agency, proved to be a complete failure this time. The behavior of their executives was extremely disappointing.Instead of assisting their customers, leaving them stranded in the middle of their journey is beyond understanding. The Ginger Hotel in Gangtok was satisfactory in every respect, but the hotels in Pelling and Darjeeling (Yashshree Hotel) were of very poor standard. Despite the extremely cold weather, there was no proper arrangement for hot water. There was lack of cleanliness, water leakage in the bathroom, and the food quality was also poor. However, I would like to clearly mention that the service provided by the local tour manager, Mr. Abhinav Roy, was very good.We will never forget this experience. In the future, neither we nor our family and friends will ever book a tour package with Thomas Cook again, and we will also warn others about our experience.

Booking Thomas cook waste of money and invitation to mental stress

First of all I wish if there was a negative rating system as Thomas cook India booking team is not eligible for even 1 star. Please don’t book your holidays with Thomas Cook unless you have extra money to waste and want to invite stress into your trip. I’m sharing this so others don’t go through what I did.I booked a Kerala trip with Thomas Cook — two days in Munnar. From the very beginning, I clearly told them several times over emails and calls that I wanted a valley view room, not a normal or garden-facing one. Despite all that, they booked me a basic Garden facing room. When I pointed it out, they admitted their mistake and apologized. But even after that, they again booked me a garden-view room, not the valley view that I paid for. I kept following up again and again, explaining that I was charged for a better room, but they simply ignored my concerns.Thomas cook India Booking team will not go and check with hotel property on room specifications and will make false promises. The most frustrating part is that the properties themselves are good, but Thomas Cook books the cheapest category rooms even after charging you for premium ones. And the prices are ridiculously high — if you book the same hotels directly, you’ll easily save around 40% of what Thomas Cook charges.Thomas cook charged me 75000 which i feel the room categories and transportation they booked would have been easily around 45000 if you self book.I went to Thomas cook so that its a travel agency which will sort out everything for me and I will have to go tension free. however they have turned my Travel(Safar) in real Suffer. This entire experience caused me so much mental stress during what was supposed to be a peaceful holiday. I felt completely unheard and disappointed.i have all evidences against them with mail and recordings. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, please avoid booking with Thomas Cook. They seriously need to improve their communication, transparency, and accountabilityThomas cook is good but there are few people in booking team which are messing it up.

Amazing trip

Our tour to the United States of America with Thomas Cook has been an absolutely wonderful and memorable experience. Everything was perfectly organized — from travel to stay to sightseeing. The food had so much variety and was well thought out for everyone’s comfort and taste.A special mention to our amazing tour manager Kshitija , who managed everything with warmth, care, and perfect time management. She took care of us like family and made sure every moment was enjoyable and worry-free.It was truly an amazing, well-planned trip — we’re returning with beautiful memories in our hearts. Thank you, Thomas Cook and kshitija! Hope to travel with you again soon.

poor experience with Thomas Cook office staff

I am a NRI senior citizen with a British passport and OCI. I was in India for a few months and booked a holiday to Sri Lanka. Late in the booking process, the agent said that entrance to certain attractions would cost me more because of British passport (instead of Indian passport). I agreed to pay just the difference. Following the trip, I found that I had been grossly overcharged for this and asked for refund based on actuals. This was rejected. They said that they had treated me as a US citizen and subject me to a surcharge (without my knowledge). Also I had a problem with one of the attractions that had been included on the Thomas Cook itinerary (free entry) - the driver / guide refused to pay for this. I paid for this and asked Thomas Cook to refund me when I returned. They refused and the person dealing with my case would not allow me to speak to or write to her supervisor. Also refused to give me a complaint ref ( I have incident ref). I wrote to the CEO in Mumbai to complain but have received no response. I feel cheated by Thomas Cook who pride themselves on being one of India's biggest travel agents.
