I got fined 105 euros because i was a tourist, even though I had a valid ticket... the man said that the ticket wasn't valid for me, as a tourist, and proceeded to fine me 105 euros even though my ticket was on hand. I tried to send an application online to appeal, and they immediately dismissed me, saying the refund was not possible. This is a scam of a company, and they will abuse their power on sole individuals. This felt personal and caused a big scene on the train, with onlookers also confused with what happened. I paid 50 euros for a monthly valid ticket and had to pay an additional 105 euros for the fine
I took the OBB train from Vienna to Salzburg and sat in first class. I might as well been in second class, third class or no class. It literally took the server 75 minutes to bring me a Coke Zero and this was after reminding him 2 or 3 times. It was busy to be honest, but 75 minutes to grab a soda and ice for a customer by any standards is crazy. The worst part was, the server tried to justify it because it was busy, he copped an attitude and later apologized profusely. I gave them 2 stars which is generous compared to their 1.5 star average. Is this how you treat your first class passengers? You need to do better!

Watch out for the ticket machines as they ask whether you want a return and then charge you for two tickets. We spoke to staff at the station and they said it happens to tourists regularly. We were not given a refund for our duplicate tickets. They hide behind their terms and conditions. We were offered a voucher to use in their trains but given it's our only visit to Vienna it has no value.
