Unreasonable pricing and underwhelming features. With a pricing as high as they charge, they should have EVERY single feature imaginable in a form, yet even basic stuff (like per-fill basic fields with url parameters) can't be done, fonts can't be controlled,, and so many other shortcomings for such an expensive product. The "free" version allows like 10 submissions with is ridiculous. We switched to another provider and get double the features for less than half the price. Beats me how they are still in the market
All of their ads talk about how it's a way to create beautiful form experiences, yet as soon as you start editing the design settings, you see for yourself how it's limited to just a few fonts, colors, and a background image. The form elements extend the whole screen, an annoying long line that can't be reduced in side. Then they add like 200-400 pixels of left margin, so everything is not left centered and not centered either. The welcome screen has text that spans the whole screen which makes it hard to read. How is it that they don't know the ideal line length for legibility? They've also adopted AI bots to handle FAQs, and it's the worst trying to get to a real person because they intentionally make it an obstacle course. I canceled my subscription 3-5 days before the billing cycle, and I distinctly remember sharing the reason for cancellation due to design constraints and bad form UI, and they still tried to process a payment. A customer should not have to resort to screenshots to document cancellation well in advance of the subscription renewal date. Their cancelation flow is also messed up for not sending an official cancelation email to confirm the cancellation was successful. Rather than spending a gazillion on ads, they're better off fixing their damn product. I wouldn't have canceled if their product actually created beautiful forms.
Everyone in here complaining about the "free" version limiting form responses. Yes, hence why it's free..My experience with Typeform has been great. Customer support is very responsive and helpful. They don't just regurgitate help docs, they actually do the research - even if it involves another connected platform. Yes, there are some missing features that would be nice to have but it's the best "question-by-question" form software on the market.
I feel really disappointed with my experience using Typeform. They advertise themselves as a free service, but what they don’t make clear is that the "free" plan only allows 10 responses a month. I found this out after I had already created and shared my survey, which made the whole effort pointless unless I paid.To make matters worse, there’s no free trial of the paid plan. The only option was to immediately jump to a $30/month plan just to access the responses I needed. I reached out to support hoping they could offer a grace period or solution, and they were completely unwilling to help.Yes, technically it’s in the fine print, but the way it’s presented feels deceptive. The pricing structure and limitations should be made much clearer upfront. I wouldn’t have used Typeform if I knew this going in, and now I just feel ripped off. There are better, more transparent options out there.
Buggy awful product. I design software so I use a ton of software providers to do my job. For some reason Typeform is the only provider I have to get customer support help with on more than half the occasions I use it. I have finite time to work on something. This morning no exception. I find that they've changed the name and the flow of something they used to call hidden fields to something now called URL Variables. That's fine, software changes, but the only issue is that my new variables won't save. Typeform has just wasted the hour I had allocated to my task. I really really hate this software. This is the definition of over promise and under deliver. For the price charged I expect very good, not dire.As soon as a viable alternative is available, I'll switch. I have such a negative experience of Typeform. Please do your UX research better Typeform. You are terrible at user experience.
Overpriced and Misleading – Avoid Typeform!I’m really disappointed with Typeform. When I signed up, there was no clear warning that the free plan only allows 4 responses per survey. I spent hours designing a survey, launched it, and only found out about the limit when responses started coming in. After hitting the limit, Typeform asked for an outrageous amount of money just to unlock more responses — at that point, it was too late to switch to another platform without losing the data and effort I had already put in.This kind of bait-and-switch tactic is unacceptable. If I had known about the restriction upfront, I would have never used Typeform. There are much better (and more transparent) alternatives out there. Definitely not worth the trouble or the price!
