Avoid at all costs

AWFUL.They take your money and don't deliver products, but when you call them out on it they say they dont offer refunds. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.Also you cant cancel your subscription without reaching out via email, that should have been the first red flag.

Missing records in order. Bad customer service.

Albums received were odd and nothing I play more than once. 2nd mailing showed up damaged with only 1 record in it but 3 were ordered. I immediately reached out and sent pictures and I'm told when you order next month and pay for shipping separately we will send you the 2 missing records. I paid and expect to receive these records asap. Several messages later I cancelled my subscription. No refund, no records. It's a scam. Steer clear.

Don't do it

Don't do it. Instead, go to the record store and ask them to pick out 3 for you. Why?1. Shipping cost are a hidden additional charge and doubled my monthly costs for the subscription. 2. Record cases had folds in them from being dropped.3. 'Curated' record choices felt like 3 demos they were trying to get rid of and didn't match my profile that I spent hours filling out.4. Customer service points you to FAQ's and Terms of Service like I was supposed to expect these things.

Take your money but don't deliver...

I have made 5 monthly payments and have only received 2 records. I tried to call them to cancel my membership but they don't answer the call. I have left multiple messages and have never received a call back. I would avoid them at all costs, they are a bunch of scum.

This is the worst company I've ever come across.

This is the absolute worst company, with the worst company policies I have ever had to deal with. I was gifted a 3 month subscription by my husband December 2021. He paid once for the gift certificate where I then redeemed on my own account. I had to add my credit card upon creating the account even though he technically paid for it. I ended up receiving my 3 months worth of records (never on time, but that's not the worst of it). I have very specific things linked to my credit card, so I don't check my statements as much as I probably should, but come to find out they had been charging me monthly AFTER my 3 months was up, resulting in over $200 worth of charges (and mind you I work for a subscription business so I made sure to check my account at the end of my 3 months to make sure it didn't auto-renew). I initially emailed their hello@vnyl address with subject line "Account Billing Question" so that I could get a refund + cancel and I got 0 responses over a 2 month period. I then emailed the same address with the subject line "Choose My Vibe Question" and I got an immediate response because of course they want your money. The representative was nice so I'll give her that, but the only thing they would do was literally give me store credit to use in their crappy shop, so still wasting and taking my money. This isn't the end of it. Come December 2022, my husband was charged for a monthly subscription. He literally doesn't even have an account with a card on file (probably checked out as a guest) and he only found out by seeing it on his credit card statement, still no confirmation receipt. It's just absolutely ridiculous that they are still a functioning business (and one that could have been really great). Don't even give them your time.

Read the reviews and believe them

Read the reviews and believe them. I gave VNYL.org a try. I gave them my card info for the subscription. They sent me my 1st month's 3 records. One was actually interesting being a band I never heard of and was okay, another was a live ep that sells new for $9.99 and the last was trash that I doubt anybody with ears could enjoy. I didn't want to keep the sub, so I contacted them to cancel. They told me I was canceled so I thought that was that. A couple of months down the road, I saw a monthly charge so I contacted them again. I was told I was cancelled and could use the money they took in their "store" or a few months of subscription. As time progressed, they kept taking money from my card and wouldn't give it back, only saying "it's a subscription service" and "feel free to use your credit in the store for other records". By the time I was able to finally get them to stop charging my card, they had taken over $400. I told them I'd use it in the store. Then I went to look at their store, it is full of absolute crap. I checked back every once in a while, never ordering anything, until one day there was 3 different David Bowie albums available, so I ordered them and had to give them a card to pay for shipping (that scared me to do so). After a couple of months, I had not received the records yet. I spoke to them and they told me it was just a shipping delay (another lie). I was told there were only 2 of the 3 available now and they would be shipped out immediately. They took the credit out of my account for them. When the pink box arrived, I was actually happy to finally get something I might enjoy from them. I opened it, and there was only one of the two records in there. I contacted them and received no help at all, so there was $35ish in credit just stolen, AGAIN.Over the last few months, I've been trying to use up the credit on anything I or a friend might enjoy in the least. I ordered one record a couple of months ago and their system charged me for 2 of the same records as soon as I checked out. I contacted them to let them know immediately, and they did remove one. I found another record a friend might like last week and ordered it. It was late night online Christmas shopping, so I didn't pay enough attention. Their system automatically charged my for 2 and sent both. I didn't realize until I opened the pink box yesterday. This company is made up of pure scum from top to bottom. The model is a scam and anybody working there is a true scammer. Anybody with the slightest bit of morality would quit and never admit they worked there.Again, READ THE REVIEWS AND BELIEVE THEM.

Decent first impression, but read other reviews too

I encountered this service through a TikTok ad and I was really enthralled by the concept of vinyls being curated through your own music taste. I decided to sample this by doing a solo plan just for one month unless I decided to stick around. My record came in a timely manner with curation being finished after three days and the record being shipped exactly 2 weeks after I selected my #VIBE. Although the record I got was alright and somewhat reflected on my music taste, I can see others finding themselves at odds with the records being comparable to what you'd find in some clearance section.I was considering staying subscribed, but looking at the reviews on here really spooked me and finalized my decision in cancelling. This page is also claimed yet they rarely get back to those who leave 1-stars. The cons are in abundance from scammy natures, bad customer service, poor curation, supposedly disingenuous "handwritten" cards that are written by a service called Handwrytten, shady business practices, and pretty much what any business shouldn't do.I found having to call in to cancel to be a bit of an annoying factor but you can thankfully just do it by email instead of having to potentially call in again and again and again or just never receive some kind response through the phone as I've seen in many reviews. I sent an email to request a cancellation and they got back to me in less than 24 hours and cancelled my subscription right away. I was thoroughly impressed given what's been said here, so either I'm lucky or things are shaping up on their end.I think while my experience does not have very deep roots as it's just the first month experience, take this as some kind of neutral reference if you're having trouble deciding. The negative reviews are overwhelming, though, so take them as you will as well. These guys haven't had a 5-star review in well over a year anyways.

It seems to me the biggest issue

It seems to me the biggest issue, the one that's causing most of the complaints about "fraud," is that Vnyl doesn't automatically ship the records each month. I was about two months in, having the same issue as most people, so I contacted support and found out I had never selected a curation level (despite repeatedly going to the site and clicking on one). So, long story short, the webpage is a bit counterintuitive--once you click on a choice, you're taken to a page hawking their plans, but you're supposed to click on the much smaller continue button on the (if I remember right) top right of the page; it's even smaller on a cell phone screen to the point of feeling obscured, which takes you to the shipping cost page. Or, and this would solve most of the complaints, they should just charge the shipping with the subscription and have a one click check out, backed up by a time limit to make a choice before they ship a fully curated order. I can't think of another subscription service that sends NOTHING unless you manually make a choice (though admittedly, that was the bane of Columbia House, but they were marking up their bad monthly CD selection to make up for giving you so many to begin with at a penny each), and it's the primary reason for their bad reputation. As for the other issue, the curation itself, I subscribed to get the kind of albums I would never think to pick up from a record store unless they were on clearance, and that's what I've mostly gotten, as well as a few that I would have picked up if I'd ever seen them (including a Big Black EP). If that's not your mindset, if you aren't open to listening to music outside your specific subgenres or list of artists, then this probably isn't the service for you. I've never received a specific album I listed as one I've been seeking, but mine were pretty specific cult niche titles or classics that would never end up in what I assume is a clearing house of sorts. I've traded in a good portion of them (after using the digital codes that are provided in some of them), but I did receive a few new favorites such as Blackerface. My current plan has a promotional price that makes it about ten dollars for each of the three records I receive each month, shipping included. I don't know if they still have that promotion going, but this feels about right compared to the base rate of, I believe, $35 for the 3-record plan, plus shipping.

DO NOT GIFT VYNL.ORG TO ANYONE UNLESS YOU HATE THEM

If I could give a minus rating I would. There is nothing of value in this service. First, they cannot deliver monthly as promised. Second, the LPs they send have no connection to what you request (I requested Jazz and only had one lp that could be considered Jazz). Second, they closed out my service before completing the order, necessitating more emails and even costing me a delivery fee to get album delivered. It was a constant struggle and hassle to get albums purchased in the gift delivered. DO NOT GIFT THIS TO ANYONE UNLESS YOU DISLIKE THEM.
