Review Time
in 2020 i requested the account be closed because I had lost my wallet. It remained on the credit bureau all this time as "opened in good standing". I finally ordered something, they approved it, shipped it and now the credit bureau is telling me that the account has been closed. When I tried to get it straightened out with Montgomery Ward as instructed by credit bureau, I finally got to spoke with a Jackie (a very rude person) that told me in no uncertain terms I needed to speak with the credit bureau. Don't think I will ever deal with this company again. I have processed the payment in full.
I ordered a super plush sofa that claims to have foam stuffing. Instead of recieving foam, the sofa had bedsprings, probably from an old matress that was thrown onto the street!! Montgomery Wards are defenately fraudulent! The sofa looked nothing like the photo. This is considered false advertising and deceptive buisness practice! The sofa was hard and lumpy because the only material inside was springs that appeared to be inserted from an old matteress! The sofa was ugly and unatractive! Montgomery Wards is iniciating the sales of counterfit items!! The sofa also contaned defective side mounts where the screws were to be inserted. There is a solid bar behind the holes where we should have been provided screws for. There were only latches. The entire frame fell apart! My husband contacted customer service and demanded a refund! The customer represenative offered a replacement but when she noticed that I cought onto the product as counterfit she suddenly informed us that this product is no longer available! This company will be reported to the Federal Trade Commission and will be investigated! They messed with the wrong person! I have colledge level experience!!!!
Montgomery Ward SUCKS BIGLY!!!! It is the BIGGEST SCAM going!!!! I see why their stores closed....for public safety! If you get their catalog in the mail, burn it before they butcher your credit like they have mine. In an effort to establish good credit I fell for their catalog scam "Your Pre-Approved for $400". I placed a small order of $126 just to show timely payments to the credit bureau and pay it off quickly. After the items arrived and after not being able to log on to view my account and after begging their so called customer service dept for my due date I finally got logged onto my account only to discover that instead of approving me for the $400 their lying catalog stated, they only approved me for $100!!...which would have been fine had they let me know that BEFORE I placed my order but noooo, in an effort to fleece me for more money they pushed the $126 order through anyway which destroyed my credit utilization and DAMAGES MY CREDIT INSTEAD OF BUILDING IT!! ANTONIO and his supervisor FLORANCE in the credit dept were unwilling to adjust the credit limit even enough to cover the $26 it's over. Their solution was "Oh well, just wait for the bill and MAKE YOUR PAYMENTS" They don't give a toss that they've destroyed my credit!! And just to show their level of "winning customer service" I asked ANTONIO if I could close the account online after I make my payments because it's difficult to get to a live rep and once you get to her (the same one each time) she sounds drunk and every answer is "I don't know". ANTONIO couldn't wait to belt out "I can put in a request to close it right now!!" This is the most disgusting and unprofessional company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They're not even subprime, they're gutter! Suck it Montgomery Ward...Suck it!!!!
It's easy to get credit, and the terms are great, but if you value your credit score, stay away. They let you exceed your credit limit and then keep the limit the same, thus killing your credit score. The credit department said they couldn't help me as everything is done automatically, whatever that means. Guess I'm going to pay it off asap and forget about them.
If I could give ZERO stars I would! I’ve always paid on time or even ahead of time, have never missed a payment. Go to make my payment and all my available credit is gone . I have not gotten ONE single logical reason for this, just 4 different answers with a lot of attitude from a supervisor. Horrible service!
I kept trying to use their automated system to make a payment and it kept rejecting it. Finally I contacted customer service. They assured me they wouldn't charge me the $2.00 fee and when I checked it they did! I contacted a Supervisor who told me she would clear the account. She did, for a week! I rechecked it, now they are trying to recharge me $95.00!! I am NOT PAYING these people one more dime!!!!!!
Terrible practices!! First of all, your credit expires. So if you want to order a second time from them, they have to to run your credit all over again. The way they report you account to the credit bureaus actually HURT your credit. It’s not worth the time or trouble. I just paid off my balance and I will never support them again.
