Whirlpool was once upon a time an…

Whirlpool was once upon a time an excellent brand, but not anymore.We purchased this Whirlpool dryer 10/18 and by 6/19 the dryer stopped blowing hot air and would not turn off. It took 2 weeks to get parts because of Covid. On 10/19, the SAME PROBLEM reoccurred and by this time we had purchased an extended warranty and the repair was made. On 2/22, the SAME PROBLEM reoccurred and once again was repaired. Now on 8/24 the dryer heated but would not turn off. We called Whirlpool's warranty again and they sent out the technician and we were told not to use the dryer until the technician said it was safe. We mistakenly thought the extended warranty expired two months prior. The technician diagnosed the problem as the timer and quoted us a price of $450 to fix it which we turned down. After the technician left, we discovered the warranty certificate actually showed coverage through 10/24. We called Whirlpool back and they found our warranty IMMEDIATELY and so they were aware of it when they sent the technician out. We had to make a SECOND appointment for the technician to return and now it has stopped blowing hot air, so it does not dry clothes at all. This was the SAME PROBLEM YET AGAIN. We are angry with Whirlpool since when they sent the technician to our home the first time, they failed to let them know it was a warranty service. We have been without our dryer for over TWO WEEKS because Whirlpool did not let the technician know it was under warranty, and as a result we had to have them make a SECOND appointment. This dryer is less than six years old and has had the same problem reoccur FOUR times. Next time it will be out of warranty, and we will have to ditch it and buy a new dryer. THIS DRYER MALFUNCTIONS REPEATEDLY WAY TOO OFTEN. Whirlpool in our experience is no longer a reliable brand and our dryer appears to be a Lemon.

Poor product quality

I bought my refrigerator in October 2022 and did not purchase the extended warranty figuring the product would last a few years before needing repairs. Yet 1 1/2 years later, March 2024, I had to pay $219 for a thermistor because the refrigerator stopped cooling and the freezer panel was frozen solid. Now in August 2024, the ice maker stopped working at a tune of $199 for repairs! When I called whirlpool with my complaint, their answer was to give me a ONE time loyalty discount of 20% on a new refrigerator! Wow ..that's generous! I bought this one less than 2 years ago for $1800...and they'll give me 20%off to purchase another of their products that may also last 1/2 years! Yes, I could have purchased the extended warranty for over$100 a year but that adds to the cost of the product that SHOULD last more than 1 year. Apparently they have no faith in their products either. My next purchase... when needed...will not be from the Whirlpool family of products. Just as I replaced my three year old whirlpool dishwasher with a Bosch for the same reason. Fool me once...shame on you...fool me twice...shame on me. There won't be a third.

Terrible customer service

I have used Kitchen Aide products in all my houses (including rentals) for 15 years. This is the first time I’ve experienced Whirlpool service and it’s horrible. Whirlpool technical staff advised the company that was repairing my refrigerator to install the wrong circuit board ($486). It did not fix the problem. They then advised replacing a second board ($411). I called Whirlpool service, got disconnected 2 times. The third time I spoke with a helpful representative (Jasmine) who explained the situation to two separate supervisors. The supervisors misunderstood my complaint, refused to talk with me, and would not give me their names. If this is typical Whirlpool service, they just lost tens of thousands of dollars in future revenue. All I wanted was to be reimbursed for costs that were a direct result of their technical departments poor technical directions…. The replacement of the first board.

#Whirlpool range / microwave wall oven…

#Whirlpool range / microwave wall oven combo. Do not purchase this approximately $3,500-$4,000 duo. We are in a new build area and have this built in model all across the new build homes by Oakwood in Banning Lewis. In 4 years the same appliance repair service has come to fix the door hinges and switch now 3 times and we will have to do this over the life of this Model until we replace it as will anyone who purchases the model. SHOCKING!!

SHOCKING!!! That Whirlpool has horrible ratings... THIS time, I needed to replace parts attached to the dishwasher rack that snapped for the second time.. Snapped like chopsticks, but they aren't covered under the 10 year limited warranty. The only things that are covered are the rubber gasket and the only 2 things that will never fail... The tub and the rack itself, which is the only thing that is made correctly... I guess it's off to get my next "energy star" disposable appliance... "Saving ENERGY for the Environment"!!!... Just ignore the Hundreds of Millions of Appliances in the landfills, they don't hurt the environment or anything... Remember when a Dishwasher lasted 30 years?

I wish I would’ve read these reviews…

I wish I would’ve read these reviews before using Whirlpool. After spending over 4k in their products they wouldn’t fix my stove that had an issue. They stated it was “cosmetic” and wasn't covered. Well it was still damaged and it was brand new. I wish they would’ve worked with me on it but they preferred to lose a costumer. I will never buy their products and will never recommend them to my friends and family.

Wrong Part and no help

They keep telling me the part I need is the correct part when it is impossible. It is the door mullion and it is two inches longer than mine now. So it can't fit, impossible to fit. But they only have sales parts people that just keep telling you the same wrong part. NO way to get through to them.

Whirlpool washer and dryer

I bought a Wadher and dryer . It worked for 1 week. I had purchased about. 1 1/2 years ago . But was meant for a bathroom which was in. Construction . Due to unpredictable circumstance the construction was delayed . I explained the situation and advised them that the plastic was still on some parts . They wanted me to throw it out or pay for repairs .
